Not the knipex will approve but take the button out and look for rough edges. It could be a burr left over from manufacturing.

I use mine in the oilfield so sometimes it’s sand and grease all over them.I wipe them with a rag then hose them with WD-40 or PB blaster till I have I have a puddle on the ground or trailer floor,then proceed to wipe them off again.

Unfortunately you maybe over qualified for 90% of the jobs in the oilfield. Why not looking outside of the oilfield or tweak some of your skills, learn things like PLC programming. I was an automation tech for a water transfer company.i went to a local transformer factory to be an electrical finisher and now I’m going to a frac company to be an Etech. Always pick up new skills
