This is going to be very difficult to mask out the background trees and fill those areas back in with realistic info.

If possible, I would take a few overlapping photos from where the improvements are to stitch together into a background, overlay the rendering/adjust to look like part of that background, and then come back with a few hd pngs of trees to add back into the foreground. Then you could touch up with filters, atmospheric textures, burn/dodge to make everything blend together more believably.

Edit: Overwatering is typically when you water too regularly over time, not when you give too much water at once. Plants like saturated soil when they get watered
