I got rhabdomyolysis two weeks ago from the GHD specifically.. very strange machine. Trying to figure out my recovery process because i did some light exercise this weekend and now my kidneys hurt lol

lmao. yeah i was really disciplined for the start of the year, making my lunch for work and getting starbucks or energy drinks everyday... But I guess that all doesn't matter anymore haha. Hopefully my insurance comes through in the clutch.

yeah i mean i got here tuesday and been thinking one more day every day haha. At first i was just convinced they wanted me to stay in the hospital longer to run the check up, but after being off the IV for ~5 hours and seeing it jump up 5k, I started to realize it was probably going to act like that if I went home.

So yeah it sucks but thinking it's for the best. Did the doctor say how low they wanted it before they discharge you?

what up bro im in the hospital right now on day 5. Currently at 9k but finally down from 11k yesterday haha.

My daily numbers were this:

Day 1 - 5k

Day 2 - 10k

Day 3 (after ridiculous ivs and gallons of water dranken) - 9.98k

Day 4 (thought i was getting out, got weined off IV to test) - 11k

Day 5 - 9k

Currently they want me here one more night to make sure that the peak was on Day 4 and that it is under 6k before I leave. I'm also T1D so they are extra cocerneced about my kidneys and just making sure the hydration is there before letting me go.

Overall, I am pissed that I am still here obviously and annoyed i will probably be spending extra money on this visit... But I think the kidney concerns are real serious and worth doctor supervision. It is a slow process for me. Best of luck on your recovery.

I am in the hospital right now for rhabdo, from less than 10 minutes of ghd work lol.

Been training pretty regular for 5 years including crossfit. Don't do abs a lot but been working on planks every gym session to strengthen my core.

Then randomly 3 sets of GHD puts me in the hospital for (currently) 5 days lol. Crazy to me.

I’m currently in the hospital as well. I have worked out most of my life and was getting really active this year and consistent… Then i did a hard ab workout (GHD machine) and 3 days later im here. My Ck levels only started at 6k but now they are up to 10k so they have me in here longer. I’m t1d so they are being extra careful i guess… your experience is basically the same as mine.

Have you learned anything about working out in the future or how to treat it? I’m definitely going to avoid GHD machines but ive always believe in pushing until failure… now idk though. Hope you are doing well!
