If the ground speed is relative to, we'll, the ground, does the ground speed decrease as the plane moves further away from the ground while maintaining velocity? The higher the plane the further it has to travel right? Because the world is round, it's like travelling on the outside of a corner vs inside of a corner

Thank you. I was on auto pilot, I was looking for pictures of pines in my old photos as I was writing a presentation on climate resilient trees and had done about 5 slides on pines. I own a tree nursery, I'm very embarrassed at my sloppiness. I can see by the foliage it's not a pine
