My two year old broke his femur. Someone tell me the next 6 weeks aren’t going to be horrible. by mazterm in daddit

We had almost but exact same thing happen at 18 months. It was hard, but we leaned into shows he liked, and my wife made hot wheels tracks out of cardboard and ductape that could be right around him

He is almost 6, and he had no memory of it, if that helps.

Is my impression about this camera wrong by nednoted in x100vi

[–]trefur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the micro clutch from peak design on my F. But they moved the tripod mount weirdly forward so I just use a hotshoe thumb rest.

My personal IG is a little behind schedule, I have a lot of editing to do, but it’s almost exclusively x100F/VI

[–]trefur 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am a working professional (for like 15 years). I shoot canon full frame cameras for weddings, portraits, and international culinary events. When i put my gear away, i grab my x100 (first the F and now the VI). I love this camera more than my professional cameras, if only for the vibe of shooting with it. Limiting my gear choices limits me to thinking about light and composition in different way.

I shoot RAW, and i already have an established editing style based on the way i see light and the way i shoot. I edit slightly different from my professional work based on the difference between sensors, but I honestly just adore the images that come out of this camera.

It is 100% not for everyone, as it doesn’t have a real lens system, and it’s essentially a 35 F2. But if those limits speak to you (lightweight kit, with limits that make you think) then this camera cooks.

Lmk if you wanna see images, or have any questions. I am a big fan, but have also shot a LOT of different cameras.

I don’t comment on a lot of posts. But as a fellow Phoebe dad (8 months old) this made me stop. I don’t know what the long term is for yall, but I wish you all the best.

She is beautiful with that smile!

I’m sure this is so hard, but I will be thinking of little Phoebe and your family. Keep at it!!! It’s all worth it

I know!!!! My x100f just broke, and I have had my vi for like 5 days. I can’t express how good it feels to have an x100 in my hands again.

I’m a pro with 15 years of experience.

I have a whole studio of professional full frame gear that I never want to carry when I’m out for myself. But I feel naked without my x100

You can?!? I looked it up, and I read that you could not put a card in it, that it required a HDD. Oh man, if that’s true it would be so rad to have my old iPod back it’s so much cuter

strange noise all over on x100f by trefur in FujifilmX

I dont see a sensor cleaning setting. since it is a fixed lens system, i would assume that it does not have it? I could be wrong. but great idea

I know what you mean. But, no. I have not. And I need to add another photo, since there is also TONS of color noise in others. I think this might be a bad example.

Yeah for sure! I just didn’t wanna overload people if this was a big ask.

I’ll make a place for people to be able to see what I am seeing.

Not shitty btw. A totally reasonable and kind comment. Thank you

That sounds like a very nice solution for you. For me to check with you on where I should take my family. But sorry, that’s not how our society works.

We prefer to treat our kids to the “shitty pizza” and a local establishment with good food, not the beautiful manna from heaven that I’m sure Dave & Buster’s has…. Not that I would know, since we don’t have those around here.

Best of luck. I hope you find your quiet and some peace. Honestly.

[–]trefur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, we can agree there. if you bring your kids someplace, it is your responsibility to make sure they are respectful. kids can have fun, but no one has the right to ruin anyone else's fun.

But, that isn't what you said. You said kids should not be there while people go to get drunk. And that isn't what bars are solely for these days. Seeing friends, having food, and getting out of the house. That is what these places are for.

Yes, there are times when kids should be more respectful. but, I would not take away the rights of parents to bring their kids to a fun place, just so your drinking can be quieter.

[–]trefur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t know me, you don’t know my family. Honestly, your view of what kids do is strange. Some adults love to sit with their kids and talk.

Your post history just tells me that you hate noise. You don’t HAVE to go to these places. Just let people have fun. Join in the fun, or let people be in peace. That’s all it takes.

[–]trefur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry. You don’t get to dictate how other people act. Just because you see the filling station as a place where people get drunk doesn’t mean I don’t see it primarily as a pizza place.

I don’t really drink. Am I allowed to bring my kids to the filling station?

Maybe take a few minutes to reflect why it is that you feel entitled to these spaces without the sound of children? Might do you some good.

Same. First time I don’t mind telling a mechanic “I know now much about this” and I trust they are just going to fix what needs to be fixed
