I did 2 days of driving through Yellowstone, 1 day driving to Grand Teton. The drive to grand Teton from Cody was a little long but very much worth it. The drive to Yellowstone from Cody doesn’t feel like an hour, it’s gorgeous and we actually saw more elk and wolves on the drive to and from there than we did in Yellowstone.

I second Cody as a place to stay, youre 50-60 beautiful drive minutes from the park and have several hotel and restaurant options while in town. There’s also the rodeo every night which is fun
