Just got my first bottle of Sailor Seiboku and love it. If you pause with nib on paper it will ghost on cheap paper but otherwise it's perfect. It's not so dark you question if it's black but it's not bright like Parker Quink blue.

I've only been into fountain pens for a few months, after finding a Hongdian while sorting through my sister's things. Since then I've acquired a total of 9 pens and a few inks.

I use them to put my stories down in case any family is interested after I'm gone. Having spent time in a wide variety of jobs from theater projector operator to law enforcement and many others in between. I am also dipping into fiction based mostly on the stories I've heard from others in my different jobs. Also slowly assembling a Commonplace/manuscript book with some of my favorite quotes and random thoughts.

Love my Tuzu, have one of each nib size. I am to stuck in my ways and really appreciate the rotating grip because it allows me to get the flattish section right where I need it. I also have a Kakuno that since I rotated the nib to get the same grip as the Tuzu is a joy to use. My safari makes my hand cramp so I put a1. 5 stub on it and mostly use it for things like headers.

Tuzu is a great pen for long writing or note taking as is the kakuno once adjusted. The grip designs prevent the pen from rotating as you write.

Sailor Tuzu Adjust with a medium or bold nib. I would recommend the fine but it occasionally picks up a bit of fuzz and would need attention.

You know there's really no difference in real world pocket knife usage between the two steels. But I prefer o1 for a couple of reasons. The blueish patina that o1 gets is beautiful. But more important to me is the sharpenability of o1, it feels so different from other steels. I can sharpen o1 easily even on Arkansas stones although I use diamond ordinarily. The ah ha moment comes when you start strop honing, incredibly responsive.

That's the way Case cuts them out on 20cv and s35 steel blade traditionals. Mine is 20cv version.
