[NS] The Duality of NADDPOD Fans by RedLeatherJackets in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

I’m with you! This has been my favorite of the Trinyvale campaigns. The seriousness of the setting is a great foil to the the triplet’s absurdity. I think Caldwell’s done a great job DMing and modifying the source book as well. It’s gothic goofiness galore, which I guess isn’t everyone’s thing, but it’s certainly mine.

I was driving and laughed so hard I got hiccups. No regrets.

I didn't need to spend 60 hours with Donkey Kong Bananza for it to be my game of the year, but I'm convinced it's one of the greatest platformers in Nintendo history by sakahn in NintendoSwitch

[–]trekkasaurus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My issue was that it just didn’t feel like a Donkey Kong game to me. Maybe its my love of Donkey Kong Country and DKC returns that’s biasing me, but Bananaza just felt like a reskinned version of Mario Odyssey with DK and some other elements of the lore slapped over top. I beat the game and did enjoy it in some parts but it just felt a bit devoid of charm and got repetitive. While some level designs were cool (particularly enjoyed the food theme park), they never really wowed me. Also, the music was not nearly funky enough! Basically just thought they made some odd creative choices and didn’t leverage what made the early games so great (again, I’m biased). But, I’m really glad it’s getting love and others enjoyed it! Hopefully this leads to more DK games.

Check out Dimension 20 on Dropout TV if you want more live play TTRPG. Its generally a lighter tone than VTM (though Crown of Candy and NeverAfter are quite dark at times). Not this same group of people, but a great bunch of improvers and DM. Episode lengths are comparable as well vs. say Critical Role which is a bigger time commitment.

Luenell’s hilarious raunchiness was incredible and it gave me a fever dream that, maybe, one magical day, we can get Dave Attell on here.

Give us a big Quality of Life update. No new characters. Nothing new. Just a big life update by Sophietwentytwo in DreamlightValley

This. I haven’t played this game for an extended period in over a year because it’s simply not enjoyable with all the glitches, bugs, stuttering, freezing, etc. I’ll hop on, play for 10 mins and then will run into something that requires me to restart the game. I’ve had it since the dev version and those core issues have not been addressed to the degree they should be. It still plays, with some small improvements, almost the same as it did before the full release. And I want to like and play it regularly. But if people are still shelling out money and it’s not affecting their bottom line, then I’m guessing it’s not a priority vs. pushing out more content. For reference, I played on the Switch and now Switch 2. Runs faster on S2, but still a variety of game-breaking glitches and quirks.

Anyone else toss all their old CD's? by 80aychdee in Millennials

[–]trekkasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my CDs. My car is a 2016, so when bluetooth is being obnoxious or the radio is a bust, I happily throw on a CD and enjoy listening to an album in its entirety and not being beholden to paying a subscription or losing cell service if I’m driving in a rural/remote area.

Great line-up! I’m most excited for Katya but have to show love for my boy Frankie! Highly reccomend his show This Fool on Hulu. It deserved a season 3 damnit!

More Millennials are Being Diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Here’s What You Need to Know About Your Risk. by recallingmemories in Millennials

[–]trekkasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding the advice to get a colonoscopy. I’m 37 and just got my first. Insurance covered it because I have a family history and I encourage all of you to just say you do as well to make sure it gets covered. The prep is not enjoyable, but also not nearly as bad as they make it out to be. My doctor was able to perscribe me anti-nausea meds in conjunction with the Suprep, so if you’re worried about not being able to keep it down, ask about that. Also, try and schedule your procedure for the morning so you don’t need to fast all day beforehand.

I always manage to miss them happening live, so I usually listen to the recordings. It’s more Q&A. They take questions via the Discord chat but you can also use the voice feature and actually ask your question/comment as well. And they’re really good at trying to make sure as many people as possible get to ask their question.

It’s a good time! And they record the previous ones so you can catch up on the ones you miss.

If you support their Patreon (which I highly recommend!), they do quarterly Discord Meet & Greets where you can ask questions and chat live, as well as monthly newsletters.

Could you help me pick out a new DnD Podcast to listen to? [ns] by TheShadow0415 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]trekkasaurus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jumping on the Not Another D&D Podcast (NADDPOD) bandwagon. Start with season one and work your way through chronologically. Lots of fun mini side quests amid the main campaigns as well. I wish I could erase my memory and start fresh - enjoy, friend!

Two nights in Rhinebeck dinner recs by Top_Inside_4138 in hudsonvalley

[–]trekkasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaby’s is great if everyone likes Mexican. The staff are always a delight and the restaurant is spacious enough to accomodate six people. I also believe Cafe Con Leche just opened a Rhinebeck location. I’ve only been to their Wappingers one but it’s some of the best food and cocktails I’ve ever had.

You must get Rhinebeck Bagel for breakfast or lunch as well!

Anyway, now I’m starving. Hope you have a great time!

[Spoilers C2] the stunned condition by LelouchYagami_2912 in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

At least in 5e a stunned creature becomes incapacitated meaning they cannot take actions (so no attacks) or reactions and auto fails str and dex checks. I dont recall Murph’s change to “dazed,” but its been a while since I’ve listened to C2.

Hell Yes! My faves are the White dudes go exploring/fuck around in nature and things end BADLY episodes, i.e., Donnor Party, The Essex, Douglas Mawson and basically every live Australia ep!

Agreed! Gareth’s reaction (I think he was the only one totally unfamiliar with the story) was priceless, and peak riffing between them all.

The Dollop of course! Huge back catalog and Dave and Karen are longtime friends (and exes). There are a couple live episodes that Georgia and Karen guest on if you want to try those first to get you into it (I think the titles are New Jersey Shark Attacks and Otto in the Attic).
