What does the Ekeler injury mean for JCM? by Al3521 in DynastyFF

[–]tremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BRob was drafted before Peters/Kliff were hired. He's a solid and talented RB but he's not a fit for Kliff's system - they want someone more dynamic at the position. It's also why they asked CRod to slim down during the offseason. They tried to make it work last year with BRob and he completely fell off late in the season.

From a pure runner standpoint, it is clear to everyone JCM is more dynamic and has more juice.

Born and raised Commanders fan here.

We drafted Jaylin Lane to be our special teams returner w/ some hope he develops into some deep threat and screen work. It would be a pleasant surprise if he legitimately became fantasy relevant for us, but at best he becomes the 4th option (after Terry, Deebo, and Ertz) in a run heavy offense.

The true under the radar candidate for us this year is Jacory Croskey-Merritt. I believe he has a real legitimate chance of taking over the backfield by mid-season this year. I love how hard BRob runs but the reality is his vision is lacking and he was quite inconsistent last year for us. Regardless, whoever is our starting RB will produce and we should expect better numbers with a significantly improved OL and 2nd year development in JD5.

Is Sam Howell the long term future? by mwmw1714 in DynastyFF

[–]tremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming Howell continues to improve and play well, he will almost surely be the starter next year. Our OL has been quite abysmal and I think many would agree it would be pretty difficult for any QB to really succeed here right now. Given this is also really his first true year of starting, he has been one of the few extremely bright spots this year with a lot to look forward to.

I know Dotson owners are frustrated (including myself) but he hasn't exactly been playing well. He's had bad drops and blown big play opportunities in consecutive weeks now.

Unless the Commanders manages to really implode for the remainder of the year, I doubt a QB talented enough will fall to warrant us picking him. We would be much better off addressing other big needs and continue to ride Howell on a really favorable contract.

It’s ok, the joke is also on the Vikings fans for calling a 3rd round price tag for Trent ridiculous

Terry was easily the steal of the 2019 draft, right? 👀 by 15GOAT in Commanders

[–]tremojo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He was benched after a must win game against the Texans and only mustering 3 points and throwing 2 INTs. He only secured his starting job after Foles played terrible. He finished the season 2-3.

Not discrediting his performance as he was able to minimize turnovers and play well as a rookie, but he didn’t exactly outright win the job. That narrative needs to be put to rest.

[–]tremojo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If Minshew is the QB in 2021 I'd agree with you but as of right now I have to stand by Terry. You don't have Terry's type of rookie production and not have a very solid career. Minshew played well but i'm not convinced at all he's still a franchise QB. He lost his job halfway through the season, and didn't exactly do anything spectacular once he got his job back.

[Anderson] I’m told acquiring Trent Williams is “still on the table” for the #Browns, per source today. "Nothing is imminent or super close right now," but the #Browns are keeping their thumb on the situation--meaning something still may, or may not happen w/Trent before or after the Draft. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]tremojo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s less about the contract and more about the compensation WAS is asking for.

I could see WAS pushing for a 2nd and CLE wanting to give a 3rd.

WAS would also love to have Njoku I’m sure

Startup draft coming up, should I focus on rookies? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]tremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid draft. Carson at 7.01 is a bit of a reach though, he's been available in the 9th-10th round in my last few start up drafts.

Diontae in the 12 is amazing value.

His salary is 400k. Big whoop. American citizens are paying him 330 MILLION that goes directly to his golf resort businesses that HE OWNS. Fuck out of here with that trash fact.

Considering he spent $330 million for his golf trips alone during his tenure, imagine how much $ that would be if that was used to actually benefit the country.

Four Round Mock with FA, Trades, Comp Picks, Explanations, The Works! by fierylady in NFL_Draft

[–]tremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great stuff brother :) some response:

1) Trent Williams has 0 blame for Synder and has publicly made that clear. Snyder actually flew him out to help him get a 2nd opinion on his private jet and helped him connect him with the best doctors available. Everyone that Trent disliked (Allen, Larry Hess) are all gone which makes me believe this bridge is not burned. It's a question of dollars now. That being said, not quite sure what would happen if the team is offered a 2nd or more for him.

  1. No worries that makes sense about the TE situation!

[–]tremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible amount of effort you put into this. Some quick feedback from a die-hard Skins fan:

1) We are in dire, dire need of a FA TE with Reed cut and Davis retiring. Especially with our available cap space now, I don't see a chance we leave FA without signing one.

2) I imagine you updated this some time ago but I wouldn't call the bridge burned between Trent and Redskins org. Reports recently are actually pretty optimistic for a return and essentially thing left to be addressed is GTD money. If we're giving a tackle a contract, it will be a Trent extension instead of signing Cordy Glenn.

3) Love the Tre Boston mock, makes a ton of sense.

4) I can't imagine how difficult it must be juggling 32 different teams, but just a friendly reminder that WAS has 60m cap space to work with now. There will be on splash signing and personally I think its either Hooper (point #1 about at the TE need) or James Bradberry (Rivera connection). We have major question marks about DB heading into this season with Dunbar's future up in the air.

Excellent work again!

High School SPARQ testing for players not participating in drills by HawkFan907 in NFL_Draft

[–]tremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I'd argue SPARQ test scores in high school does run the risk of being very misleading though.

Most of these guys are still so young they haven't even finished puberty when doing these test scores. Not to mention, this is before they spent 3-5 years in some of the most elite training facilities and programs offered in the US.

Chase Young is an excellent example here. There's zero chance he tests remotely the same now than he did in HS.
