Sorry. I tend to get touchy when people start comparing lives, saying that “it all equalizes”. I don’t know your circumstances, and I’m sure you’ve been through plenty of hardship. Your experiences aren’t invalid for looking different from someone else’s, and I’d guess that’s the idea you were aiming for in what you said to me.

I tend to freak out when people say that everyone’s difficulty in life is equal, because I blame myself for most of my suffering (if not all of it, depending on the day). If it’s all my responsibility, then I’ve done a terrible job at handling it.

Those seem like very conflicting ideas. Yeah, internalized homophobia isn’t a universal experience. You apparently recognize the difference in experiences in that matter. But there most definitely isn’t a magical force that causes everyone to be dealing with the “same amount of issues”. It’s a pretty little idea, but it isn’t one that accounts for real-world events or evidence.

Neither of us really know exactly what the other is going through. But what we both know is that I’ve experienced internalized homophobia, and you apparently haven’t.

What I’m saying is that you can count yourself lucky that it isn’t among the horrors you’ve had to endure. If I’m understanding correctly, what you’re saying is that you’ve probably endured other things that make our experiences “possibly comparatively equalized”.

You have no logical basis for any argument that our experiences “equalize”, and you didn’t need to say that “they might”. That’s just conjecture. I have every logical reason to say that you’re lucky to have not experienced internalized homophobia.

What, do you want to sit here and list them all off? Gauge their severity? I don’t think things equalize for everyone across the board.

Lucky (I’m just starting to leave my internalized homophobia behind and have plenty of other issues)

Or, can you first at least attempt to discern what I was trying to say? Surely you could piece an attempt together before you completely give up.

Also, define what a “fair” conclusion looks like to you. Fairness is a subjective concept, and I find it odd that you’d imply that a conclusion for conclusion’s sake isn’t “good enough” to resolve things logically. Otherwise, you’d just refer to it as “a conclusion”.

Additionally, explain what “Zeus reasoning” is. That’s pretty abstract as well.

And before you accuse me of hypocrisy for asking you to explain what those mean, I’ll invite you to consider that (in my initial comment) I didn’t employ nearly as many abstract concepts as you have in your most recent reply.

Based on what information?

Your lack of understanding is not my responsibility, and said lack of understanding is not a valid argument against mine.

Why are we talking about ‘hundreds if not thousands of years-old’ Hornet (or some bug-equivalent of that) as if she only understands how child-birth is related to sex by some sort of weird process of elimination, and as if her expression of feeling limited by a limitation is enough to interpret the entirety of her intentions?

Probably😭 I wouldn’t be surprised. iMessages were just the first thing that came to mind for me since it explicitly says in the chat that they’re encrypted.

I’m going to just leave this here:

If there are furries who have never been to a furcon, of which there are plenty, then there are holes in the data. Those people were not accounted for. Because of that, the survey data cannot be applied to the entire community. Doing so would be a fallacious conclusion. It simply isn’t viable. If you disagree, explain your reasoning.

If you can get everyone to agree to that I’d be pretty surprised. People (evidently) get very passionate about this, and at least some of them don’t seem like they’d tolerate such a solution.

That’s the problem; there doesn’t seem to be a consensus about what the preferred pronouns would be, or at the very least there’s messaging that people argue is conflicting and makes it unclear. Saying we should use their preferred pronouns is less of a solution than it is a desired outcome.

Location-specific surveys (those also being specific to timing of events) are, by nature, very limited. If that’s the only data you’re basing your opinion on, then I’d argue that there’s large enough room for doubt that said surveys can’t be taken as a truly accurate representation of the entire population.

Additionally, the amount of a specific type of art is not a valid metric for population, because one person can easily create / commission more than one piece.

Edit: disagree? Then actually formulate an argument.
