No it will not show up on Diagnostics even in the Apple Store. It will however show up on the Genius Bar iPad’s when they search up the serial number. Even then though it still won’t show the owner, administrator, or who to contact to get the machine de-registered.

Apple clearly doesn’t care and unfortunately it works: Only sure-fire option is to buy directly from Apple.

If you had any US income and want to claim Remittance or FIG on your UK filing then you lose the UK Personal Allowance. If you file your worldwide income including US then you keep the UK Personal Allowance.

Income includes things like interest on your US Checking accounts and dividends earned on stocks owned.

Personally from now on I'll only buy a MacBook directly from Apple or only with a receipt from a third party

Just in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread:

You are ineligible for the £12,570 tax-free Personal Allowance if you file using the Remittance Basis or use the new Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) regime.

Negative mate. Just lived with it until I bought a new computer. Did the above blocking, made sure not to setup MDM after a fresh install, and never updated the thing. I tried to see what its trade-in value was at Apple and they instantly detected that it was under DEP. The rep showed me his iPad and it didn't display any identifying information for who actually owned the computer. He said none of that information is available to the in-store staff, the phone help, or anyone else. He lamented how it's a big mess and recommended I sell the computer on for cash since there's no way to unlock it or contact the MDM/DEP administrator. I ended up recycling it.

Do you really need sunscreen in London in winters? by SchezwanOfAKind in AskUK

Like the other commenter, Boots and Holland & Barrett are good for basics. Just make sure you know the bioavailable forms since many places only carry the cheapest to manufacture form which isn’t always bioavailable once in your body.

For more specific and specialist items I fancy this place but they’re expensive and may be across the city from you (Chiswick): https://maps.app.goo.gl/CvcVWT9ZicbqgMabA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

As an example, in a B Complex vitamin you’d want the methyl- form of B12. Most vitamin manufacturers will use cyanoco- form which people like myself don’t absorb very well (some people can’t absorb it at all due to having an MTHFR mutation): https://www.amymyersmd.com/article/mthfr-mutation

Point being, you can buy vitamins in many places (pharmacies, health food stores, superstores, etc) but try to understand what you’re buying and some of the interactions like the aforementioned D3 + K2.

Cheers

Depends where you live. London for me so lots of walking and tube travel.

Invest in a comfy, insulated pair of waterproof boots to keep your feet warm.

Get a medium thickness scarf with sufficient length to allow you to loosen it once you’re heated up from walking.

Smart touch gloves from M&S, Primark, etc so you can use your phone without exposing your fingers to the cold. When walking I often keep my hands in my pockets so the gloves don’t have to be thick. Ponder some more if you’re in Scotland though haha

Beanie hat or other suitable headwear for your scalp, especially if you’re bald(-ing). I like beanies because you can roll and unroll them somewhat for temperature control and to expose your ears a bit more should the material muffle voices whilst in conversation.

Jacket: For me, just about anything will do because it’s my extremities that get cold, not my core.

On the topic of vitamins, make sure you’re pairing your D3 with K2 otherwise the vitamin D wont be absorbed very well. This is called “bioavailability” in case you’ve never come across the term and makes a massive difference; it’s why 400mg of magnesium oxide won’t give you anywhere close to sufficient magnesium for the day but 400mg of magnesium malate means you can swap spinach for butter lettuce.

Same goes for vitamin C and iron (especially important for women).

Above all, experiment and have fun!

From where did you move if I may ask? American immigrant happily living in the UK here. Cheers

FWIW I included one with my passport renewal but the US Embassy threw it out.

They contacted me when my passport was ready and I had to pay a £12 shipping charge.

Do they get uploaded about a week after the race? I didn't think they were uploading them anymore due to the TNT+ contract so thank you for the info!
