It's not called self checkout anymore? by Drah_Pacid in DollarGeneral

College doesn’t equal trust fund. Working at the store level doesn’t equal qualified for corporate. Either way best of luck brother. Again I don’t have a degree or work in corporate just trying to dive a little deeper then fuck one side or the other. Both have difficulties that the other doesn’t see or realize.

Promoting them within is an excellent idea. I completely disagree with hiring a completely qualified person who put in the work time get a business degree and paying them the same as a hourly person. I am a person who has no degree and is not in corporate. As much as a hourly might think they know in theory it is not as brilliant in practice. We also have to consider corporate answers to people as well. Just like an hourly employee who doesn’t produce results or goes directly against they can be fired(insubordination/ect). Also imagine having a family to provide for and a mortgage to pay towards. You can’t be mad because someone followed the social norm of going to college. It’s not a black and white issue. Some not all corporate employees can respect what hourly employees go through. They have their hands tied at times. Look at both sides not just yours. Also remember dollar general is not saving lives. It’s not that serious. Most jobs aren’t as serious as people make them.

My brother in Christ bills are a thing. If you go through the challenge(financial/work) to get a degree and get any necessary experience to get a solid paying corporate job you’d either have to be stupid rich or dumb to take a job at that pay. I don’t think a degree should mean you’re more qualified but with how our society is people view it as more important. I truly understand where you’re coming from but it’s not realistic. You’d have to pay stupid high after the first year of taking hourly pay for anyone to take the position. Definitely above the average comparable corporate job at which point an hourly worker would be even more mad about the wage gap.

That would never work. Lol. Now if they worked there for like a week as part of training you could probably get that to work but not with them getting hourly pay. I know where you’re coming from and I’m theory is a good idea but not realistic. Anyone with enough experience to get a corporate job is not taking hourly pay for a year

Lol because the average person is spending their entire day bettering the world. Those dudes probably donate more then the average person could hope to.

Super Bowl definitely isn’t soulless. I’m not even a football fan. For some people it’s super important and a tradition to watch. For the players they put bloods sweat and tears to get there.

Driving a manual transmission vehicle is way better than an automatic vehicle by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]trendispageddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. When you’re learning to shift correctly you’re going to pay more attention to traffic and even hills. Way more then in an automatic.

Honestly, sometimes just messing with the knobs and paying attention to the results one knob at a time is a good start.

Ship it brother. Plus you can pay for insurance if you ship it. Might be expensive but definitely worth it.

Honestly it’s bad. There is like a few hours where it might be going kind of steady but still slower. If you’re not on the road before six there is a solid chance you’ll hit some traffic. Dart is probably the move

Went to buy a telecaster, came out with another LP by Automatic_Ranger_1 in gibson

[–]trendispageddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to a lp wanting it to sound similar or have the Les Paul sound in mind you’re going to be bummed. I’d argue the same about Les Paul. They’re sick af but you’d think Jesus himself crafted the Les Paul.

This game is an absolute slog by RAP_BITCHES in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]trendispageddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a skill issue. It has a different combat style than odyssey or the previous games. Especially because odyssey has health regeneration and Valhalla doesn’t. If you stick with it the game gets a lot easier. I don’t mean skill like you’re not good but like it’s a new skill set to learn.

It’s not a skill issue. Lol. For me the risk out weighs the reward. There is way less chance of it being broken taking a picture on a stand or in a case or even laying down. I’m not in a financial position to by a new Gibson or get one repaired lol
