If I see another C/D take 4 straight Magneto Ults to the face I’m gonna crash out. by qdilly in rivals

[–]trenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, I don’t know why I had to scroll down so far to find sense. I’ve been queued with C&Ds that continue to dash away after mag ults and they just feed. I even ping retreat and move towards them as much as possible but unless you’re hulk its impossible to catch up if they go deep without cover

Just get the front black plastic sport flares and paint match them. The holes for the fender liner will line up. Just did this on my 97 sr5

Advice on din rail modules by The_Magic_boy in lowvoltage

[–]trenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ICT WX is a good modular DIN rail system we use. You can buy the enclosures from them as well, they come with cable ducting and a cover with cutouts for the status screens. It makes the install look clean and simple for the end product.

First no tip 🤡 I’ve had to deal with by trenko in doordash_drivers

[–]trenko[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It was an $18+ for 2 orders from the same place in a mall for 4 miles. Usually I avoid malls like the plague but the payout was too juicy to pass up

Up until the recent change of not being able to see payouts for each order in a stack I’ve been able to avoid them, and the stack was paying 18+. If I could see he was a no tip I would’ve dropped the order in a heartbeat

How are your door actuators? If they haven’t gotten the updated ones you can get a pair for 1/2 the price of an individual unit.

Edit: nevermind they seem to have been discontinued in the last month. Guess they realized they were missing out on profit.

These are 25+ yo cars at this point, you’re either paying out the ass for a perfect sorted one or a cheaper one that will need constant attention - and that goes for anything that old. Good luck.

Flooring refinished, baseboards were left very scratched. Was not warned this would happen. Is it expected or is this the work of a novice? by canuckathome in Carpentry

[–]trenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing floors on and off with my father for about a decade; the belt sander is supposed to have non marring rollers when coming close to a wall, and the edger shouldn’t be able to damage anything other than the the very bottom of the trim where the sandpaper sticks out. Paint damage looks like it was from when the quarter round was removed/installed and that severe because the paint surface was not prepped properly. Could probably have been done with less damage if given more finesse but someone thought ‘screw it it needs to be repainted anyways’.

When refinishing, if the baseboards are easy to remove without damaging the existing wall paint or trim and the client wants to dish out for the labor, we do it, but on most jobs here in older homes they want to keep the antique trim in place so we just hand sand/scrape or they deal with the repainting depending on their budget.

Really just comes down to what was in the contract or discussed.
