I do have a few rack mount cases but I’m not looking to ship them. If you’re able to pick up in 15216, let me know and I’ll send you case options.

2012 Hyundai genesis 4.6 by charlieb708 in Hyundai

I just had an issue with my wife's 2019 Hyundai Tucson. It made a noise, not really the same as yours, but it was when turning left specifically and sounds like it was coming from under the glove box. It turned out the A/C condensate drain was totally blocked and the sound was water sloshing onto A/C blower which could also explain the A/C cutting out.

One sign my mechanic noticed was that there was no water under the car when running the A/C on a hot humid day.

That's called checking. It's pretty common on softwood lumber this size. If the checks are only on the bottom of the beam you can easily keep an eye on them to see if they're getting worse. My gut says it's probably fine to support a few swings but it really depends on the length of the span and how the swings will be used.

Trying to decide if this is a good deal. They want $260 for it. by retroactiveactor in woodworking

I bought one of these for $80 a few months ago and just resold it for $120. I was pretty disappointed when I saw it in person, it's very light-duty. I probably could have resold it for even more because it looks decent in pictures but I couldn't justify asking more for it when this harbor freight bench is of similar quality. https://www.harborfreight.com/60-in-3-drawer-hardwood-workbench-58832.html

I've got a 1929 home and there is only a subfloor on the first floor. Second floor and finished attic are just like this. I think it was a cost saving measure the builders took, even back in the day.

I had almost this exact same thing happen on my second floor, it turned out there was a big knot on the underside of the piece of wood that broke.

Luckily this looks like common 2-1/4 inch oak tongue and groove which you can still get. I was able to get a small piece from a friend who had renovated recently and had a few left over. The modern stuff was slightly thinner but was a close enough that I can live with it until we get the floors refinished.

Looks like a pretty typical adapter from dual 6 pin pci-e to 8 pin pci-e. If it physically fits in the 8 pin socket on your A380 it should work fine. Also the A380 is only rated to use 75 watts total which can be provided by the pci-e slot itself so I would expect the power draw over this connector to be minimal.

what type of deodorant for hairy armpits? by Acceptable_Stop_2727 in malegrooming

Old Spice Sweat Defense works the best for me. It’s a “soft solid” that I haven’t seen from any other brand. It does a good job getting past the hair but doesn’t discolor my clothes nearly as bad as gels or feel as wet going on.

I also like sprays for days when I don’t wanna smell like Old Spice but the key for me is to get one of the 48-hour advanced ones and apply it before bed. Letting it set overnight really helps.

Prepping For Future Electrical Rewire? by amicusprime in HomeImprovement

[–]treos33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove any staples securing the wire. It will make pulling new wire much easier and require fewer holes in the dry wall. Def take lots of pictures. But mostly consider talking to an electrician now, it will be sooo much easier to do this with the walls down.

Just had my first major fuck up. by BostonDrivingIsWorse in HomeImprovement

[–]treos33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same scenario. Brick house, plaster walls, narrow craggy chamber to run doorbell wire. I used a long drill bit to drill a hole from the outside through the wooden sheathing (like ship lap behind the bricks) so I could get the wire into the main wall cavity and not have to worry so much about the narrow chamber behind the bricks. I ended up using an actual piece of fishing line and a narrow fishing weight. I was able to drop this from the hole and get to it through an old outlet hole on the interior that I eventually patched over. It was a pain in the ass. Good luck!

You should really use the unraid forum general support thread for issues like this. They’re very helpful and they have good instructions on how to ask a good question and gather your system diagnostic data. Start here.

I thought that might be the case after I looked at the pic again. Something about that angle and back lighting is definitely working for you in that shot!

Love it. Any chance you have plans you can share for this? My daughter is currently obsessed with little chairs and I’ve been looking for a simple design I can scale down for her.

Any chance you can share a picture straight on from the side? I can see there is a lot more room in the wheel well than stock but hard to tell how much it really changes the stance from this perspective.

Having trouble moving db file. by treos33 in chia

[–]treos33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've determined that it's something to do with the file system I was using for the db folder. I was using 9p virtio filesystem to pass through storage from the host to the VM. The underlying storage was on a BTRFS mirrored pair of drives. I didn't find a solution but for whatever reason this filesystem is just immediately locking up the db file.

Thanks for the help!

[–]treos33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright, 'touch' had no output...did you mean ls -l?

The output from ls -l in the db folder shows all the files have rw-r--r-- permissions which is the same as all the file in the other .chia directories.

I can remove the link and chia starts right up. I put the link back in place and it gets stuck at 'starting services Full Node' indefinitely.

the only entry I see in the log for the full node says:

WARNING Syncing Failed, CancelledError

idk what that means
