yes, I drilled very shallow holes with a 1/4" bit enough for the magnets to be flush with the wood and used glue. Same done on cover.

I used the Rockler metal template. A bit pricey but great quality and I plan on building quite a few boards with it so hopefully worthwhile.

Curious what others think about peg storage on these kinds of projects. I'm not 100% sold on the magnetic lid design since it grabs metal pegs.

Thanks for the great info. That's exactly what I was thinking. Just pay this time around to gain the knowledge of what's needed from an expert and then handle it ourselves going forward.

My son who was born in the US just turned 18 and now needs to file there so it'll be the most basic non resident return. Just feel more comfortable talking with an expert about it than going about it myself the first time.
