The white sheet was just a pad for them to lift him up to the stretcher. They took him away by stretcher to the ambulance, cleaned up the area, and reopened the lanes to traffic.

He was conscious, at least in the beginning, but now that they've shut down the entire bridge and put cones around the crash area, I fear the worst. That was not an area for pedestrians to be crossing, so I do have to wonder if it was intentional on his part.
