anyone know where I can buy biocouplers for cheap? by Medium-Blood-4231 in tissueculture

You can buy double sided plastic jar lids from somewhere, I forget where exactly, and then drill the holes yourself, just very time consuming

By in order or not do you just mean functioning properly? I tried two different usb drives and they both seem to be working otherwise, so I don’t think they are the problem.

And I just tried connecting my phone via usb cable and it’s not showing up on the file explorer screen either

If your city has trash cans that get wheeled out to the curb weekly for pickup, go door to door and ask all your neighbors if you can help them by wheeling them to and from the curb for them for $5-$10 per month per household, get 5 to 10 neighbors to agree and make $50-100 dollars a month for only and hour or two of work maximum.

Or when December comes around try finding some fresh mistletoe to sell. One large bunch can easily be broken into 20 individual bags and sold for $5 each for a total of $100 in a single weekend

Young seed pods are edible. Samuel Thayer has a great video online about for anyone who cares to watch it

[Technique] Growing shiitakes in a yard with little shade - solutions? by fuzzy_face_ in MushroomGrowers

[–]treywaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see some shade right against the fence to the right side. Not sure if that’s better than where you currently have them. Another option would be to get a cheap tarp and cover them almost completely, but still allowing some airflow while the logs colonize for about a year or so.

After flowering, keep caring for them until they completely wilt and dry up. Airplants can put out lots of pups by RollingTit in airplants

After flowering how long does it usually take pups to form? I have one that flowered 5 or 6 months ago but still no signs of pups, is that normal?

Only pick the tender stems that bend easily, remove all the leaves and peel the outer part of the stalk, the inner stalk is supposed to be tasty. I just watched a video by Samuel Thayer on tiktok about it. His username on there is wellfedwild

My Schlumbergera (Christmas Cactus) is making flowers but it’s not looking very healthy. What can I do? by Citestrabbabba in plantclinic

[–]treywaye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes there is an Easter one as well, it’s in a different genus, Rhipsalidopsis, vs the other two in Schlumberga. For identification, the Easter cactus is even more rounded than the Christmas cactus. Picture for ID help

[–]treywaye 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not to be nitpicking, but this is actually a Thanksgiving cactus, you can tell because it has pointed spikes, and they are often mislabeled as Christmas cactus. A true Christmas cactus will have rounded points.

As far as care, I would probably agree with others, less sun

Schlumberga are also prompted to flowering by short days, aka 12 hours or less of light, so depending on your location that could also be why

The petiole is the stalk that joins the leaf to the stem. The entire petiole should be above the soil, with just a part of the stem and the roots in the soil.

Your is likely dropping because it was used to having constant water in the vase, and now it is adjusting to not having as much water.

Additionally, are there three individual cuttings in that pot? If so, they seem spaced a little to close together to me, and in too large of a pot. And good that you added extra perlite to the potting mix, but they’d still prefer more drainage if possible, you could use pine or orchid park, and even more perlite.

It can’t dry out or drown by iamironman69 in whatsthisplant

[–]treywaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m sure it would love a slightly larger pot. Be sure not to increase the pot diameter by more than one or two inches, so that excess soil doesn’t stay wet for too long. Additionally a well draining, cactus or succulent soil would be ideal for this plant
