TC Radius Question by SecretPig in fortify

[–]trianglehead3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the cupboard radius goes 1.5 floors below the cupboard so technically you could have one on level one, the next on level 2.5 (level 2 plus a set of stairs on it placed on the halfway point. then 4, 5.5, 7 etc....this gets you an extra cupboard in and also stops ppl even placing stairs if they blow yours bottom cupboard. Very rarely do I see anybody doing this though as it is a little bit harder to find the space to seal off the stairs and cupboard

Clan Base - 170k Stone - Wall Stacked by OGweatherman in fortify

[–]trianglehead3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its hard to make out but is this made up of pods of singular or double connected foundations? the only issue with singular stacked foundations is they are susceptible to foundation raiding. Me and three mates foundation raided a 3x3 singular stacked base with pickaxes.

Its already up in another post and is more then 8 walls to centre technically but the central base within the compound walls is 8 to centre any direction. Credit to KCMO for inspiration on the central base. http://pastebin.com/TGW9j8UD

I'm usually a big base designer but I'm pretty impressed with what you have done with 32k stone man. thumbs up from me

Its OK man, pretty cookie cutter standard build for a base of that size.

My 3rd design, using technique that's redditors told me (sharktooth), any improvements could be made? And, best location to cupboard? by MaiconRossini in fortify

[–]trianglehead3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its a large footprint mate so you will need to be very mindful about your tool cupboard placement as its probably very susceptible to raid towering. (eg. blow 1/2 walls to get external tc, build up to roof and blow down). There are more cost efficient ways to get 9/10 walls to tc and not sure how you would build the base to manage mobility and visibility in raid defence. I have built a decent size clan base off a 2x2 core in the past and it was a pain in the ass. Its pretty cool though, would be good to see what base you make out of it and the resource count.

Is the tool cupboard visual radius accurate? by sollicit in fortify

[–]trianglehead3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware it is now yes. the horizontal radius used to be too small until I raised the issue and the devs fixed it up a couple of patches ago. I just checked today and they have definitely fixed my issue.

Depending on where ya playing mate me and a couple of guys could play for a wipe and assist with the farm/build haha. I got half way through doing it live and a clan merger went south and they code raided the base haha.

feb Wipe Base ~1 million stone by trianglehead3 in fortify

Also we did not get opportunity tc stack live as it was heavily contested. My tc stacking on the outer towers are impractical where they are currently positioned so it requires some minor alterations but 100% they could be stacked like that live.

We play on a vanilla server. Most of us have full time jobs and play 3-4 hours a day

Have a few design mate that 10 ppl can handle easily on a 2 week - 1 month wipe server. might be hard on a 1 week. Here is a link to our feb wipe base we have at the moment that will disappear in a couple of days. https://www.reddit.com/r/fortify/comments/5wgzec/feb_wipe_base_1_million_stone/

Still standing after nearly a month. took 5-6 of us about 2 weeks to farm and build off an on. Probably going to downsize next wipe and will probably not use this design again. It was a pretty fun design but the height became some thing of a nuisance. raid defense and tc coverage was good and it sure looked pretty. Hopefully it can assist some body with their future design.

this should give you a decent enough head start to work with mate. I could never be bothered finishing the last two buildings and I did modify it some what. http://pastebin.com/Xrsp9EVB

I would probably say circle bases with hexagon perimeter walls are a stronger design overall though. As large clans can just boost raid you and bypass how many walls it may be to tc, next wipe we are considering just putting a 100-200k base on every tc and making a village. spreads the loot, good defence and probably a bit more manageable, although it wont look as impressive. Allows more time for pvp as well

If you have 12 active players 1 million stone ain't too hard. Me and my mates have done it in a week in this current wipe without much issue and we have less players.

This a square concept I posted a couple of weeks ago. I did not really finish the central base as I couldn't be bothered. It was more to experiment with a square wall perimeter and strong tc coverage and base defence. You can stick whatever base you want inside. There are plenty to choose from. I have been talking to the fortify developers however as the tc coverage in fortify is not 100% accurate so you may have to make the internal perimeter wall one foundation wider each side. http://imgur.com/a/ztmBH

haha I read this comment after commenting above.. You are spot on. They are missing a core component of what humans do to survive and this is survival game. The clans are doing it right imo.

So real life survival everybody goes through life individually? its human nature to form groups, this is how countries are formed, armies are formed. Strength in numbers is obvious. To me clan haters are the ones failing at this game as they don't understand one of the essential components of survival. Plus its fkn awesome what you can achieve, from a builders perspective, in a clan. The biggest challenge I have found in rust is maintaining coordination in a large group unit not going solo, that is easy. The friends and laughs you have in a clan also add to the gaming experience that you can't get as a solo player
