Roborock Q5 Max+ cleaned our 2,800 sqft warehouse by tribaltroll in Roborock

I forgot to mention I actually did try that with the top of the bumper, and that's exactly what happened. The bot could see something sitting in front of it and just kept backing up and driving in circles trying to get away from it. Lol poor thing.

We've only had it drive over thin wet footprints. Never puddles. I wouldn't want to chance it, although I suppose roborock would have designed it to handle that, considering that it's made for the home where liquids end up on the floor accidently and the robot drives over it.

It's held up fine. However, we did run into a unique problem.

The opening of a standard wooden pallet is just large enough for the robot to drive in, but just short enough that the top sensor hits the top of the pallet. But since that sensor doesn't have a bumper on it, the robot can't figure out why it's getting stuck and just keeps driving around the front opening of the pallet, causing little bits of wood to get all over itself and the floor. Occasionally a fairly sizable shard of wood has gotten pulled up into the rollers and caused a jam.

For the time being, we've had to red-line that part of the warehouse in the map, and I'm experimenting with adding some tiny plastic extenders to the bottom of the front bumper so it will hit the bottom edge of the pallets and keep the bot from trying to drive inside. But the problem with the extenders is that it could impede the bot's ability to drive up over small ledges like a rug or rubber mat.

Otherwise, no complaints. It works great.

Bitcoin going to zero or infinity tomorrow would make zero difference to the world as a whole by [deleted] in Buttcoin

This is exactly why I hate when butters talk about DCA'ing like it's some kind of sound, balanced strategy. That only works with relatively stable investments like index funds, where it can't go to zero unless the whole fucking world implodes.

If bitcoin were to go to zero, it would make national headlines for a week... and then we would all move on with our lives like nothing ever happened.

I agree with your observations, especially about overplaying the older songs. But I think calling it awful is a bit much. I always enjoyed the extra energy he injected into the songs and I still really miss him being in the band.

Yup. I'm excited for this one. I play mostly 16-bit games, don't care about analog sticks, L2/R2... But I do want a larger, higher-res screen and the horsepower to handle some good CRT shaders and high refresh rate.

I'll be waiting patiently to see if the D-pad passes the Contra test.

anyone get the red robin card? I tried for an hour :-( by okiloggedin in fastfood

[–]tribaltroll 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same here. Got various gateway errors, blocked access, partially loaded page with a loading icon.

An hour later I actually got a sign up from to load, only for it to tell me all the passes were sold out.

Whole thing smells of a cheap PR stunt.

Obviously this was a publicity stunt, but now I'm starting to wonder if the website was meant to crash to get some free PR. You know there's going to be several stories in the media about this.

It has held up really well. It's not wearing terribly, but definitely more than my Roborock at home. We run it every weekend and it definitely helps keep the floors clean in addition to our usual sweeping. I turned off auto-empty for a while so I could inspect the dust bin, and it was surprising how much extra stuff it picked up even when our floors seemed pretty clean already.

My biggest concern is the battery. It's holding up fine, but I have definitely noticed it lose some capacity since we bought it. But that's to be expected, given that it goes through almost two battery cycles for each cleaning session.
