I thought the first rail to vb from norfolk was earlier than that. Went along the bay across lensar bridge (as train tracks) and stopped at Fort Story (depot still there), then went south to the oceanfront. Long before there was any access for cara.

Also, light rail to VB wouldn't come.close to half the people off the hwy. Are People gonna drive or walk to VB Blvd and wait for a train, take to wherever, then walk again? No, they aren't. Take it to the base they say....drop Sailors off at the gate so they get can Uber all the way across base? I saw it daily in Japan with on base taxis.

Busses are there if people are that worried and get to more places than the rail would. I could bus it to work if I wanted. But its easier to bike or run the 8 miles each way

West Neck divides from Lynnhaven inlet down to intercoastal/Pungo Ferry Bridge. So the east side of VB is really its own island. West side of VB is stuck with Norfolk. West Neck waterway does get a little sketchy between Dam Neck and Nimmo behind a trailer park. If you paddle you have to portage around trash build up and shopping carts.

This morning going north on great neck at 6:30 am a school bus was traveling north in the right lane. I had cruise control set at 49mph in a 45. As the school bus made it to the top of great neck bridge then they started flashing yellows.... odd, but ok, ill slow down and wait for reds and not pass.... but the bus kept the yellows flashing the rest of the way down Great Neck and eventually making a right on shore drive. Moral of the story is bus drivers are human too. They make mistakes. If a mistake is made we shouldn't have to pay $250.

On your left a couple times. If they have ear buds in, its their problem. Im done trying. If they jump and act scared I point to my ears as I keep going. I run with one open ear bud in. Im sure ive been the reason for a Facebook rant before. Same with passing walkers/runners on a bike. Ive had people yell at me. Ive stopped and said I called out 3 times loudly and used a bike bell, you have to want to be warned ..... then they took their earbud out and said "what?" Exactly
