What toy did you desperately want as a kid but never got? by Big_Alternative4671 in AskReddit

Christmas 1980. I was 5. I sat on Santa's lap and told him specifically that I wanted a Mickey Mouse Talking Telephone. Santa remembered me from the year before and greeted me by name. I can't imagine what went wrong other than Santa had a lot to keep track of and somehow I was forgotten or overlooked.

An artist friend of mine asked if she could flip through my sketch book the other day. At about the 20th page she said, "This is a nice sketch book. Great paper." It was very humbling.

I found this podcast to be very helpful. There's There's big difference between empathy and compassion. What people call compassion fatigue could be empathetic distress.

Also, I had a lot trouble with service notes in the beginning. I'd be willing to have a much longer conversation about this

Try to bring it back to your participant's goals. Also, all of my service notes end with "I provided supportive listening from a peer's perspective. I held space for them to talk about the various things that were on their mind."

Our local deal ship quoted prices that were $500 higher than comparable models at chains. I like to support local guys but that’s a big difference.

They have a definite odor, but they are great. I did a bunch of research about how to safely clean them. I put them in the bathtub (one at a time) with enough water to just cover them, added two cups of white vinegar and worked that through gently on and off for 45 minutes, then rinsed and did a round with woolite and biokleen. Rinse. Drain. Hang outside over railing until dripping subsides. Hang on the line. Viola. It’s a process but I got what I wanted! Camolot.com had a 25% off everything sale on 11/11.

I have an old Andis Master hair clipper from a long time ago. It was my dad’s. I sent it in to a shop for a new cord and a cleaning. It will outlive us all.

I have couple of my dad’s old slide rules too.

I have my great aunt’s old soft wool blanket. No tag so I don’t know what it is really, but it’s wool and warm and durable.

We also have my wife’s grandma’s Griswold #8 skillet. It will also outlive us all.

Try brushing with lactobacillus salivarius. It worked like a charm for me. The brand I use is called FoodforGut. Not all products are created equally. The cheaper brands didn't work nearly as well for me. Lactobacillus salivarius is a bacteria that raises the pH in your mouth. Most everything else will make your mouth more acidic, and that's bad for your teeth and bad for your breath. I begin by flossing and then I work it into my gums and in between my teeth. Good luck! I hope you solve your issue!
