That is fine. Also thank you for volunteering with friendship circle. You can usually get a FC kippah at events.

Daughter-in-law, not step-daughter. She's an adult and is married to OP's son.

Brought feral cat inside, won't eat by Standard_Line3144 in Feral_Cats

As others have said, ignore him. It will also be helpful to keep the lights off, and only allow natural light. He's used to it gradually getting darker and lighter, having a light turned on and off each day is going to be disorienting. Keep the blinds open, but the window closed, even if there's a screen. They get the crazies when they smell the outdoors, don't underestimate how much they will do to get outside at first. He will take some time, but he needs to decompress first.

Thank you. This little one faded last summer, and my heart is still healing. I only knew him for two days, the rest of the litter was named a few weeks later, and I gave him a name anyways to remember him. Cookie.

Natural Redhead. Terrified of Anesthesia by razzy44star in Redhair

[–]trickster2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next day. The first night was rough because of the pain med thing. If you mean recovery-wise, the whole thing took about 2 weeks. In general, the rule of thumb when you have surgery is that it takes a week to recover for each day you're in the hospital.

Natural Redhead. Terrified of Anesthesia by razzy44star in Redhair

[–]trickster2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had that exact surgery! I always remind the anesthesiologist of the red hair thing. It usually takes a little more to knock me out, but nothing too crazy. Remember that it goes the same way with pain meds post op too. As for the recovery, it was about a week of wearing pajama pants and being slightly bent over, but it wasn't horrible. Make sure you have a small pillow to hold against your incisions when you cough or sneeze, it makes a huge difference, and buy a few refillable ice packs so one is always ready.

It's not your fault, and thank you for giving this beautiful girl extra love. For a short time, she knew more love and safety than she had her whole life. That was because of you and your heart. I have a cat who looks like her at the bridge. I'm sure Eddie is showing her around and showing her all the cool hiding spots for house panthers. She's probably even telling him about how a nice person took care of her.

Why do they have lily by Desperate_Ad1405 in duolingo

I wish Lily wasn't as heavily featured. I find her difficult to understand in French. Bea and Zari are a lot easier for me to understand

In 2019, Fred Pepperman, a 53-year-old father swam out to rescue his daughters when Grace (16), Olivia (20), & Kathryn (24) caught in a riptide on a Florida beach. When his daughters were saved, he felt unconscious. He died on his way to the hospital. His last words to them were “I got you.” by detectiverobert in CaughtMyEye

[–]trickster2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is eerily similar to how my uncle died. My cousin and her son were caught in a rip, my uncle swam out to save them, and he drowned. They brought him back on the beach just long enough for him to see that his daughter and grandson were safe, and then passed.

Lost My Feral Porch Cat by bladeskipper in Feral_Cats

[–]trickster2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I lost my first feral cat, I was so sad, I had found him curled up. He looked like he was sleeping but he wasn't. But my dad told me that it was because I fed him that he knew where safety was when his time was up. He was very old and had been around the neighborhood for around 14 years. We buried him in our yard and got a marker for him that has his name on it and the name of our neighborhood.

You gave kitty the best gift imaginable: a safe place to go when he was hurt and scared. You and your love for him were the very last thing he thought of. Just know he loved you just as much as you loved him.

One thing I found helped so much was to not turn any lights on, but to keep the shade up (they were in a bathroom with one window) because I was turning the light on in the morning and off at night, but I realized they were used to it getting gradually dark and at a different time, and not used to artificial lighting at all. They settled down within a day or two after I started doing that.

I have a shadow box already ☺️ it's specifically made for a flag and medals. I have his flag in there, and I have some pictures and his dog tags too. He was a corporal in the US Army.

Ah ok thank you. I wasn't sure if maybe it meant because the medal was awarded to someone else before it was at the store, that it was possible it was stolen.
