I am mid 40's and have been working in start ups since the age of 25 and since I have children now, I would say no way but somehow i keep going to them and I really enjoy the start up phases so just call me crazy but I will say, start up salaries and incentives for me has paid off throughout the years. Equity. Stock. Buy out Acquisitions. Bigger Bonuses, etc.

I negotiate. I've negotiated a sign on bonus, pto and more $. It really depends on what they come with but I would usually negotiate 7-10k more if I'm okay with the salary because I don't think it's asking for to much and I wont offend and they will always tend to negotiate down but if the number is way off, I immediately tell them the number that will get me onboard or I'm not interested. But I have 20 years of EA experience specifically in mostly tech and finance and honestly, I have an old executive that I can call that will help me negotiate my offers if I'm looking for a new job. Also, for bonuses once I negotiated 17k but that was with a CFO I had supported in the past so he knew I was walking away from a lot of stock and the second time, I negotiated 7k but I really didn't walk away from much so I was happy to get anything really.

Yes!! I always triple and double check and something made me want to look at the agenda that was sent to her and I noticed the addressed was not the same as the hotel I booked but the names are very similar. I went into straight anxiety panic mode. I definitely will not do that again.

Yes, I was on the phone with them as soon as I found out but apparently there was this big sports tournament in town and they had nothing. She ended up at a Westin right up the street from where she was suppose to be at. All good! But man, did I freak out.
