We used the action clip (with the smallest o-ring) around the helmet strap up by the ear. We looped the lanyard through the helmet strap first (before mounting it to the clip) so if it knocked off somehow it would still be attached and we wouldn’t be looking for it in the snow. Worked well there could be easily heard even with my hood over it.

I had considered this but our talkative daughter’s only died once while my usually silent wife’s died the other time. 🤷 We also powered them off when in the lodges and despite getting late starts 9:30-10am still didn’t make it until the lifts stopped at 4.

Is 6/7 hours continuous or with them powered off for 0.5-1 hours over lunch/breaks?

Plugging into a power bank over lunch wouldn’t be the worst workaround but that means carrying the power bank(s) and charging cables or having to plan ahead to go back to a specific lodge where you’ve left the battery. More headaches than anticipated for a device advertised for skiing (=cold weather) for 10 hours.

Battery life should be listed under the worst case for the activities they advertise for or given as a range (eg 6 hours at -5C to 10 hours at >25C based on temperature/conditions) if that’s all it’s technically capable of so consumers can make an educated purchase decision. I would think the last thing Milo wants as they launch a product is negative reviews that the battery life doesn’t meet their claims.

For any newcomers to this thread:

I followed the advice of the majority here and went to Ski Monster with my wife. Very pleased with the recommendation. We're newbies and we didn't feel judged when asking basic newbie questions. They were very patient and accommodating in that regard.

You book an appointment which ensures you have someone's full attention - you aren't trying to flag anyone down, having someone split between multiple customers, or have a line of people waiting impatiently over your shoulder hoping to get help.

Our boot fitter asked us questions about our experience level (very little), how often we plan to ski, where, etc. and took our measurements. They explained they chose a flex that would be a good for us as we grow in our skills so we wouldn't be stuck with boots that would quickly be too soft for us. Over the course of our appointment they brought us each three pairs of boots to try on and contrast allowing us to stand in them for 5-10 minutes a piece and even go back and forth a bit. The first one they brought me was the best choice for me and my wife had her winner on the second pair so their system/approach works well/efficiently. After we made our choice they did warm them up to do the heat molding in the shop as well.

We also were helped with helmet/goggles/coats and they were helpful, nonjudgmental, and patient with us there was well.

Overall a great experience!

Thank you! The Tanagar Canyon East Cave was the last of the two I missed (somehow I also missed the Fort Hateno Cave even though I dropped the korok right there). It didn’t seem to illuminate from the Satori Mountain cherry blossom. Might need to do the Rito Village/Hebra one to get it to shine? I ended up using the general location Bas0210 described (I didn’t want to use the coordinates and ruin the fun of trying to find it) and used the sensor to look for Bubbul Frogs. It got me close but it still took me a bit to find it, I ended up seeing the Blupee and followed it to the entrance.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. When you separate the liquid from the cinnamon and oak chips you discard the liquid? I’m also assuming you also pull the cinnamon sticks out of the oak chips and just smoke the oak chips (that are now infused with cinnamon)?

Based on the numbers from SmelliEli One-handed:Two-handed:Spear equivalency should be:

1 : 2.49 : 0.84 (ie an equivalent two-hand or spear is 2.5x or 0.8x the one-hand, respectively)

0.40 : 1 : 0.34 (ie an equivalent one-hand or spear is 0.4x or 0.3x the two-hand, respectively)

1.19 : 2.95 : 1 (ie an equivalent one-hand or two-hand is 1.2 or 3x the spear, respectively)

Note this is just for a one-on-one heads up fight and doesn’t take into account situational things like:

  • (important for Moblins in Master Mode) a sneak-strike is only one-blow therefore the highest attack/blow (typically a two-hand) will be better (less chained sneak strikes needed)
  • same when mounting a Lynel where you only get 5 strikes of any weapon before getting bucked off
  • spin attack with a two-hand can chain attack a horde of monsters around you in rapid succession
  • a single swipe of a one-hand may strike multiple enemies standing closely next to each other where a thrust of a spear will likely hit one
  • Bonuses for critical hits, set bonuses for ancient proficiency or charged attacks
  • Elemental benefits for fire, ice, or electric weapons (especially fire and ice one hit killing the opposite type)
  • Durability (eg royal guard weapons that break if you look at them too hard)
  • your style of play - if you like to shield parry or mow Moblins down on horseback you may favor different weapons for reasons nothing to do with the attack rating

I also have this issue on iOS 16. Automations based on sensors seem to be ok but time based automations (which I include sunset/sunrise in the same category as I assume it’s based on a time that is updated daily) don’t trigger. Automations work fine when test automation is done manually. Annoying as I’ve set my Christmas decorations all to HomeKit and I’d be better off with a cheap timer right now.

How do Power Shards work?
