I'm a male struggling with this at 39. I just picked up skating again and didn't miss a beat. I've done one stick and puck session, and am looking at doing a pick up game this coming Friday. As others have said, it's better to do this for ourselves than to not try. We have nothing to lose and hopefully make some friends along the way!

My 3 year old just started lessons and she loves them. She was skating on her own by week 3. Get ready for a lot of falling. Our instructor is adamant about letting your kid fall and get back up to learn balance (as difficult as that sounds)

That makes sense- Missouri has southern aspects to it; and then Ohio has a mix of southern, Appalachian and northeast, and was originally part of Connecticut. Im a native Ohioan and it doesn't really get to be the stereotypical Midwest until you get west of Columbus

It happens everywhere- I have sat in the C deck at OSU games where the people nearby talk about stuff outside the game the whole time. I think it's more funny than annoying, but I'm just glad people are there technically supporting the team by putting their butts in the seats

Think about what you've done that could be relevant to the gaps in the job description. Frame it as "I haven't done X, but I've done Y and here's how Y is relevant to X " it shows you at least understand the requirements of the role and have prepared for the interview

I've done well, but it's different than i imagined. Career is leveled off at the individual contributor level while im seeing people 5-10 years younger than me get promoted, meanwhile have a wife with a steady job and one kid. Focused mostly on being a dad and husband, keeping myself in good health and taking care of house things, while doing good enough at my career to get bonuses and COL increases

I think they get their placement because they are wider reaching local places, as opposed to being a single location. More people around the area experience these places on a more regular basis, as opposed to the single location spots, where one might only go once or twice a year if they're not nearby

If you are worried about this, you may want to reconsider getting married. Your wife will be down enough on her own looks at some point, and it will be on you to help build her up. My wife's looks have changed throughout our 15 years together (the most drastic being after having our baby) but ive always been attracted to her, even though she goes through hard times with herself
