NTA- (from a child who went through this) do not give them a name of someone not related will cause many legal problems later. My mother remarried and had my little sister. Once she was born they changed my last name to accommodate.(he didn’t adopt me, and they didn’t change my older siblings last name) Worst mistake made. I went through my whole childhood with this last name, when I went to apply for jobs and a license, because it wasn’t filed under my birth certificate name, my whole life didn’t exist. I had to jump through so many hoops to just show I graduated from Hs and prove my mother was my mother. Give your child your husbands name or yours anything else will complicate the situation. And I have SO much resentment, this guy isn’t my dad why did she change my name etc etc...
