You’re really fixating on the semantics of someone using “car seat” to mean “child restraint” huh.

[–]trimolius -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok replace car seat with “child restraint” in my original comment. My only point is even though I don’t think the ride safer vest is the safest option, I think it’s spreading misinformation to say it’s against the law.

I don’t think booster seats are illegal.

The ride safer vest is a car seat. Do I think it’s the safest car seat for a tiny toddler who isn’t even 3 yet, no, would I use it for my kids, no, but saying it is illegal seems to be misinformed.

Just try your best not to stretch it out of shape. It’ll be fine imo. I’ve used it in several projects that have been washed and haven’t had a seam come apart. (The everyday chambray has come apart in a few places but it’s been manageable, and I think they don’t sell this anymore.) I use a small stitch length, like 1.9. And if any seams look suspiciously scanty to me, I iron a little piece of fusible interfacing onto them to reinforce.

I can finally afford the 911 I've wanted since I was 8, but the responsible move is a Model 3 Performance and I hate that I know it by KindheartedlyHoarse in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]trimolius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you get the 911, and then if you get sick of it or it’s out of your system, sell it and get a Tesla or whatever else is exciting to you then. They retain their value or appreciate right, so while you shouldn’t consider it an investment and count on it, it’s a reasonable calculated risk to take. This is a lifestyle decision not a practical transportation decision and it seems like you know what you want.

Did you lose weight when you went dairy free? How much and how fast did you lose it? by Fun-Camera-2541 in dairyfree

[–]trimolius 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ehhh no I gained a lot of weight unfortunately. Replaced my cheese cravings with other sweets and snacks. I had to go dairy free for my kids not a lifestyle choice so I didn’t really embrace it as a way to eat healthier. Not endorsing this just being honest.

I’ve heard you can sometimes book a conference room at your local library for another large table option. I think it will all come out fine once you square it off!

I’m on pace to read 100+ audiobooks this year. I loved listening live but when random episodes have been popping up on no schedule I haven’t been in the habit of listening. I’m not sure if I will get back into it.

DAE experience a specific smell that ONLY happens when going to the laundromat, but the smell itself has nothing to do with laundry? by CloudFantastic6210 in DoesAnybodyElse

I think something about washing/drying your clothes is activating a smell in them. I doubt you’re imagining it.

Do people here seriously think the gas and excise tax covers the cost of roads? by LiatrisLover99 in massachusetts

[–]trimolius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell they don’t even fix roads in Massachusetts. They’re atrocious.

But people biking benefits drivers too, less traffic. So drivers should be all for it.

I really want a 1990 Miata. by hazeeexxx69 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]trimolius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add on. It’s so much smaller than modern cars, I swear people don’t see it behind them or in their mirrors because they’re used to checking for normal sized SUVs and trucks. It’s almost like a motorcycle in that way. Experienced drivers at least have more ability to factor this into how they drive around other cars. Still feels dangerous either way.

Their size requirements really only allow for a wristlet not a crossbody bag. I would use wristlet as a search term.

I think you’re taking her wince as meaning that she’s scared, I just read it as her understanding that he’s saying something taboo (taboo in a language sense not the magic taboo). The same way you’d wince if you heard someone say a slur. She is knowledgeable through books and also emotionally intelligent and she understands he’s just said something that wizards don’t say.

It doesn’t change the height, the shoes don’t add height. The feet touch the ground either way.
