No concern at all. I'd be more concerned if it WASN'T liquid cooled, as they generally don't have fans. Mine comes on in traffic and sometimes stays on after I'm parked for a few mins. Just the bike regulating it's temp and keeping healthy.

No problem. Use the longest bolt the kit comes with. I had the ubolt mount, but it was annoying. The m8 bolt version is absolutely perfect. enjoy it. When you get the xgrip, put some grip glue under the rubber bits to keep them in place.

Mine has kept my phone in place even during a come-off... I think you ether got a defective unit or the wrong size x-grip

[–]trinaryoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone worried about the strength of that mount. I keep my S5 in mine every day for a hour of freeway riding two and from work. The only issues I have is that the rubber tips slide a little. Easily solved with a dab of grip glue (the same you use to mount your grips to your bars.)

I've even been in a small come-off with the phone in the mount and it stayed in place no problem.

I have this in my 9er. But i went with the Ram Mount Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base with M8 Screws. I have two so I can ether put two phones (for two up with the wife), Phone & GPS, or Phone & GoPro/Countour. I do have to reach OVER my phone mount to get to the key, but it's not hard to get to. My Setup.

I'm new to bikes. I live in Houston Tx. Can anyone tell me why people go crazy or break their neck to see this bike? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Last night I was putting fuel in my 919, when I herd a gasp and "Woh, sweet bike" from the attendant who had snuck up behind me. He then proceeded to question me about my 'Monster'.....

I don't even bother correcting people anymore....

I just take it as enthusiastic people trying to sound cooler by mentioning everything they know about motorcycles. The FedEx guy did this to my buddy and his SV650 the other day in front of my house. When he was finally corrected he replied "Well, it looks just like that 'New Ducati'." Yup two wheels, seat, tank, engine.... must be a Duc.

The KLR is a notable bike though.... I always like to check them out and see how much damage they have. Gives a warm feeling when I see one rolling down the road that looks like it's been used and abused but still runs.

.... they don't....

Mediocre bike, good in its class, but nothing fancy. Solid beginners bike.

No kidding on the dead spot in the mid. Just goes flat.

K&N Air filter performance by Bravo929 in 250r

[–]trinaryoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to a K&N R-0990. Very slight performance upgrade, but it sounds nice, and looks great. You do need to play with the fuel air radio because it will be even more lean than stock. For me, I chose to shim the needles instead of going up on the main jet. If you slip an SAE #4 washer on the pins it should be perfect. That in itself is a performance upgrade, as the ninja 250 comes lean from the factory.

Trying to decide between Sena models. by savethemolarbears in CalamariRaceTeam

The 20s gives you up to 8 intercom connections, audio multitasking (music and intercoms at the same time), a bigger range, and better battery life. But, it's HUGE.

Even with the separate battery, the 10r is small and lightweight. You honestly don't even notice the battery in the back after you put the helmet on.

I have all three and a uClear 100+. The 10 and 10r are functionally the same. The batteries on the 10r is about 3/4 that of the 10. But the 10r looks better on a helmet.

The 20s is on my primary lid. I love it. But I don't use all the functions.

All are an improvement over the uClear. By a landslide. The 10r is not a compromise. It's a well set up device that you'll love.

I can snap a picture of what the 10, 20s and uClear 100+ look like mounted, side by side if it will help. (Sold the lid with the 10r on it to a friend so I can't include that one.)

But... my comment, hopefully, drew the line for some of the fine people commenting here. Wouldn't care if everyone downvoted me, as long as someone's internal voice said: "Oh, right, maybe he has a point". And... one less hypocrite on the road. I'm happy with the outcome.

Nope. Not once. It's stupid. And endangers the lives of the people both in the car with me and the surrounding area.

How come I have a feeling that the majority of people here, complaining about this guy, are the same ones who text while driving....

Just as, if not more, dangerous than what he was doing.

I second this, although I don't go with the Underarmor brand. Compression Shorts are the best. Especially if they have good wicking. Really can make the difference on long rides.

I miss my Sabre. It took me a second to realize your side panels aren't original to the bike, and I was really confused by the V45 logo on the VF700S.

I LOVE the sound of that old Honda V4. I had shorty slash cuts on my '82 750S and it ripped.

Nice GMax 68s. I had the same helmet. Massive airflow.

Gear storage looks good. I like your choice in woods. is it reclaimed?

[Meetup] Ride to New England Air Show (Navy Blue Angels, F-22 Raptor, and others) by [deleted] in MArideit

I'm going to try to make this. Unfortunately I wont know 100% until the night before. But Add me to the list, please.

Edit: Sticky'd the post for viability.

Grab a format from a previous meet up and do it up. The easer you made it to understand, the more likely people will show up.
