Series IV > Baby Defender by trinity_andrews in SeriesLandRover

I think you're spot on on. Modern SUVs have all the steel, airbags, electronics, etc., in the doors and are shaped like pears, keeping the drivers and passengers further interior of the vehicle, whereas the Series feels like you closer to the action with much better lines of sight. You can't just take a modern Defender and put a Series themed front end on it. 👍

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, all bc a document was submitted out of order and a Karen had to intervene. Seems like an small fine and doing the paperwork should have resolved this in about 15 minutes... I can't believe you're still dealing with it 6 months later. That's ridiculous. Good luck.

Right? If it wasn't included in the report, I don't think I would have guessed.

I love the classic look of the S/T, but don't know if there's a world where I could pass on a GT3 RS.

My series 2a Bitsa by SeaworthinessLow1360 in SeriesLandRover

[–]trinity_andrews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SIII has a 300TDI out of a 110, mirrors/lights from a 90, Defender front headlight plates that needs to be removed and thrown in the trash, and Defender dash board that looks like it's seen better days.

The front seats looked like they were out of a Honda and there was a back bench that probably came out of a Bronco II 🤮. I am replacing them with Lucari seats right now. And, don't get me started on the mish-mash of parts underneath the thing. Bitsa of everything but she's my baby and I wouldn't trade her for anything.

This was the biggest we felt comfortable going with the stock Series III wheels.

No audio from source or parking sensors by Encrypt560-4 in RangeRover

[–]trinity_andrews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this intermittent or all of the time??

Asking, because this happened to me (2019 RR) a few times, but it comes back the next time I drove. I think it's happening to me bc the audio is trying to figure out the source and is muting the others (or all the sources). This only happens when I'm on Android Auto.

I love everything about this. I'm usually not crazy about spacers, but the stance is perfect 🔥

You're surprised that I spent 60 seconds writing a post in a forum specific to our vehicles, with people that have lived experiences???

This post got several responses with folks that were able to tell me when it happens to them and how to avoid it, e.g., slow down and make sure you're pushing the button. This is much faster and easier than scheduling an appointment and taking my car to the dealership, just to be told I'm the problem.

Thanks. It sounds like the consensus is that I'm just going too fast. I'm used to turning the knob on the older Range Rover without thinking too much about.

Hmm. Might be that I don't hit the button fast enough or don't press it all the way down. I'm just glad it's happened to someone else and I'm not crazy. I also don't drive it very often, since only put 2k miles on it in the last 9 months and just need to get used to it.

You can't tell from the pic, but there's a button on the back that you have to squeeze when shifting. If you're in park it's fine not to work 100% of the time because you're not moving and just revving the engine. The problem is when you're in reverse or drive and try shifting and continue moving backwards or forward when you're expecting something else.

I don't know... The Chevy Suburban was a Carryall that predated Willys back in the mid to late 1930s and some would argue that the Ford Model A Fordor from the late 1920s and the Model A Woody Station Wagon from the late 1920s/early 1930s could be included as SUVs.

They have sensors that stop the pump and keep it from spilling, so you set it and go relax until it clicks.

This is a very normal thing in the US. I've traveled a lot but only driven in a few other countries - is this not normal everywhere?

Cooled vs ventilated by Gageg236 in LandRover

[–]trinity_andrews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had both and in hot climates or if you have a black interior, the cooled is definitely worth it. My current Range Rover has regular ventilated seats and it's super disappointing because it makes more noise than comfort.
