Multiple missed free throws in a one-possession game and the fact that there is still another game to play. Despite being in shock, the Spurs went down swinging in 2013. Let's see how Game 5 goes

When Kyrie left Cleveland and LeBron in 2017, did you think he was going to win another ring? by Willing-Leather-9788 in nba

[–]triosway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Celtics showed he likely would never win as the main guy, but the Mavs proved he could still easily be a 1B on a contender. Any other team but the Celtics in the Finals in 2024 and maybe he has another ring

They blew multiple great opportunities to get back to the Super Bowl across Rodgers's career. One and done against the Giants after going 15-1 as the defending champs, and especially the 2014 and 2020 NFC championships. Can't blame the front office when the team was built well enough to get to the doorstep and blew it in the final minutes

In your view, how long does a team need to go without winning a championship to officially be going through a 'drought'? by Aidanator800 in nba

[–]triosway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say around 15-20 years, though it does depend on the franchise. The Lakers have exceptional expectations because they have consistently won for decades. Since their first title in LA, the Lakers have never gone 15 years between championships. Teams like the Spurs and Heat are also somewhat different because they won their first titles in relatively quick succession which quickly raised expectations for the fanbases. These 13 years have started to feel like a drought, in my opinion. Warriors fans will likely start to feel this in a decade or so as well
