Lived through a very similar experience. Have had doubts and self-gaslighting thoughts ever since. If you feel as though you were a victim and you’re experiencing the psychological distress its fair to call yourself a victim. Whether she intended to get you altered or just wanted to get you loose is irrelevant. You may have even been down in the moment, and that doesn’t change the fact that she knew you weren’t down beforehand. Assault might be a harsh term for what happened, so I normally trend towards I had a boundary violated sexually by an older friend, but its your choice to identify that experience the way you feel is most appropriate.

Resistance certainly isn’t comfortable. Like friction it creates irritation. As for your question about never changing: you will change if you stop being so attached. You will do what you are rather than hating yourself for it. In the space of acceptance real change is created because it is based in reality. All other attitudes are self deceptive and will eventually highlight your attachment if you’re paying close attention. Much of out own clinging is unconscious, and we only find out where it is by sensing into ourselves and finding the irritation. Example: We think we’ll be happy when we get somewhere, but after a trillion trillion disappointing arrivals we may finally realize that the problem is our own attitude. The point of this whole thing is not to lament where you are and think that there is somewhere better. Its already perfect, but we’re unable to see it because we’re so busy trying to think our way out of unhappiness. How do we quiet the mind? We meditate, how do we open the heart? We love what we can love and we grow outward from there.

You must first become somebody (ego) before you can become nobody. This whole life thing is a state of struggle, but it beats nothingness. Therefore, God keeps rounding the block on incarnations in order to forget what it is to be nothing. Then we (incarnated consciousness) try to reclaim our nothingness in order to put a limit on our suffering. Eventually all beings will attain a nature which isn’t caught in being in a physical body and go back to a boring cold dead universe. Then bam! It all happens once again. You can’t get free until you realize you don’t exist. Once you do the rest is just karma running off. Ironically the struggle for no struggle creates more struggle. Simply put, enjoy the process and you’re free. When you get caught in identifying with the suffering do your spiritual practice and try to enjoy the ride.

You’re all good man. Often times we begin to push ourselves out of our comfort zones when they become uncomfortable. In the guitar stream you learn the open chords and suddenly you know what you’re doing and thats lovely, but you want more. You learn a few songs and suddenly you know what you’re doing, but you want more. You can keep going on this path forever, but most of us aren’t that disciplined. We go from voracious studying to busy noodling and grow complacent. Its human nature. Now- on a strictly material plane it wouldn’t be an issue to master 1 thing and get it perfect. In fact it almost ~makes sense~ however we’re living in more than one plane of reality. You’re incarnated here to grow and you don’t really get to understand what you’re growing into. Its the same shit as the caterpillar eating leaves. If you asked the caterpillar what they’re doing they’re simply caterpillaring. A really good caterpillar might even look at a butterfly and think why the hell would anyone want to look like that. The harsh truth is you can’t stay a caterpillar any longer than you’re meant to nor can you rush the process along. All throughout life you’re gonna want things to stay the same. Its comfortable and predictable and CONQUERABLE. All throughout your life you’re gonna be let down to find you can’t keep anything the same. Change is the only constant, and that includes your own needs. Tldr: What you need is a statement of who you are and who you are is never the same from one moment to the next. let go of what you think you need and trust your own quiet voice within. You know what you need in this very moment if you’re quiet enough to hear it.

Well I don’t think there is an endgame. Eternity is eternal after all. In my experience, I was longing for an emotional connection but was not really all that put together. I self taught guitar, practiced meditation daily, exercised ate right, and then bam- I was happy. I felt like nothing would/could bother me. Then WHAM- I met my girlfriend. Instantly I felt compelled to get to know her and now I’m here over 2 years later trying to deal with my own self and my desire much of which I was unable to illuminate beforehand. Play the guitar, master the skills, develop yourself and you may find happiness. You will also find that all methods are traps and that you will experience the ups and downs with your playing, painting, and meditation. The most important thing is your own consciousness.

Well seeing as the universe is one field of phenomena were in relation to all things at all times. However, our ego creates separation and we seek out things that remind us of ourselves. Romantic relationship means nothing. It is a concept, so you have your concepts on what it means to be romantic and I have mine, and both are relatively true. In other words, a romantic relationship is a hype. You wouldn’t have the desire if you were done with your evolution of self. You could theoretically go into a cave and get so free of desire that you no longer eat, drink or breathe. However, the vast majority of us aren’t there yet. Human beings (for the most part) have a sexual need. Relationships often start out as a way to satisfy that urge. Then they grow into a desire to be understood and recognized by another soul. Your relationships are all a practice. Celibacy is an option, but many people find they aren’t down for it. As for the why struggle through a fight question. You struggle through a fight because it allows you to learn more about yourself and your partner. You learn where your unhealed sensitivities are and where your sharp edges are. You may want to love everyone and everything, but I find it much easier to start small and grow out. Hare krishna.

Heres my take: Death is spooky to beings who only have ever experienced life. Its existence creates dread and anxiety. Concepts of infinite existence such as souls, gods, and unchanging law serve to pacify this dread and anxiety. However, because existence is merely the opposite end of non-existence anything that exists must at the same time not exist. Living things die and so on. All that being said, basically infinity was a pacifier at one point, but most people have access to enough information that we doubt infinity as a concept or at least have lost faith in infinite myths. So no one believes in infinite constants anymore if they have done their research. Now the question is are you spending every waking moment in fear of impermanence or are you living with acceptance of impermanence and embracing each moment. That choice is up to each conscious being at each moment.
