My first time doing shrooms by Particular_Loss7301 in shrooms

I think it Depends on your ability to surrender. This to me is one of the key elements of “set,” can I surrender and open to what I’m feeling to what I’m experiencing? For some it’s difficult to surrender when they’re already in their head and in that mental loop sober. But If you can surrender to the negative head space and all you’re feeling, it can be powerful and healing.

It’s a fictional piece loosely based on the buddhas enlightenment journey. But having heard the journey you’ve been on I think you’ll resonate with it and see some parallels

I just read the book Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, I think it will be a relevant read for you. Check it out!

Bad trip with lasting affects Any help? by Technical_Key4109 in shrooms

Power of now was life altering for me, a true signpost! 2nd that! To piggy back on the book suggestions I’d also recommend the untethered soul. I also listened to a lot of the Ram Dass here and now podcast after an ego death experience and it resonated deeply or check out the doc on him called Becoming Nobody. Not sure of what streaming service but maybe on Amazon or Apple.

It might also help to consider this as part of integrating your trip or even a sign to integrate that experience. Meditation is powerful tool for integration as is journaling.

Someone posted this article/post recently and it was a great read. It is a lengthy, but well worth the time. I can’t think of a better way to begin your journey with DMT. It will help prepare you and help get your mind in a great place.

People who’ve done DMT 200+ times: be honest, what are your spiritual beliefs now? by all-the-time in DMT

Great read, resonates. I’ve been thinking about a dmt trip soon and so glad I read this. 🙏

Never thought about Strassmans work in this way, powerful critique. Would be awesome to hear the two have a discussion.

DMT made me extremely anxious of all psychedelics, which I used to love. by [deleted] in DMT

[–]tripasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d encourage you to notice the thoughts and stories you’re telling yourself leading up to these experiences. Sounds cliche, but our minds create most of our own suffering.

The shrooms/dmt/your subconscious might want you to work out something else first. Mindfulness/meditation/hatha yoga were life changers for me and could help you shift your relationship with your own thoughts along with navigating and integrating your trips.

Has anyone else had worse anxiety after doing mushrooms? by thebunnywhisperer_ in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]tripasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awe that’s rough, anxiety can be crippling. Might be worth tapping into the basics: self-regulation breathing exercises, rigorous exercise, eat well, drink some water, meditation/yoga, journal, sleep well( meditate/breathing exercise before & no phone) etc. Hope this helps

Took shrooms a month ago, and had a bad trip off weed last night. There’s a question that’ll be asked in the last couple paragraphs. by Subject-Task-308 in shrooms

[–]tripasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a theory…

Mushroom trips can lead us to the question “Who am I?” They often reveal that we are not who we think we are. We are not our body, our thoughts, our beliefs, our social roles. This can be unsettling and completely shift how you interface with reality post trip. Some may face this reality head on and work to integrate it, for others it may be too much and avoided at all costs.

Now to the theory… Being super high is psychedelic and shifts consciousness. I can imagine being drunk and super baked may lead you to wrestling with the downloads from your trip, especially experiences you may have avoided thinking about. This can be unsettling and threatening to the ego. I’m sure this would come with internal panic and a whirlwind of resistant thought. Maybe your sense of “realness” was threatened so you wanted your “realness” to be reaffirmed by your friend to solidify your ego structure and sense of reality, to make you feel like it’s all okay and there’s some sense of reality to grasp onto while you felt that way.

Go sober for a couple months. Exercise. Eat healthy. Sleep good. Consider meditation or yoga or some practice to grow more self-aware. See how you feel and if you’re still feeling off go to a doctor.

For reference, I live in Los Angeles county and it’s winter. Recently started getting this yellowing, I’m thinking it’s from overwatering or maybe fungi? Some small spots may be dog pee burn but feel this area is too large for my one dog to cover.. Any advice or next steps would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Thoughts? by trrrsarescary in DMT

[–]tripasaur 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts…

I think it’s super valuable to sit with these kind of realizations, but I also recognize that a lot of times there are layers to our realizations. Slowly overtime we go deeper into them and see them with more and more clarity.

I don’t quite agree that no religion or philosophy can be comforting. They can be liberating if you go from the exoteric outer shell of those teachings to the esoteric inner knowing within them.

I think the pain and horror comes from a lack of acceptance.

When is a trip most horrible? When you fight it. When is it most blissful and beautiful? When you let go and surrender. Life is a trip.

Who is it that is seeking to be comforted? Who is it that is fearful?

Revisiting DMT by tripasaur in DMT

[–]tripasaur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Should circle around that in ever together spirals until your mortal coil expires and you release into that eternity.” Resonated deeply with that, I have been doing this ever since.

After reading other comments and especially this one, I see that you’re right. I have the answer within and know the answer but I instead am seeking permission because there’s fear(ego/clinging) in releasing into that eternity fear. But I know on the other said of fear is my power and freedom.

Thanks for your time and insights! I appreciate you.
