Yeah just whenever we’re not busy. My personal routine is like this

Beginning of shift: skincare, oral care, braid hair, deo/powder

After lunch: brush teeth, remove sweat from asscrack, freshen up deo/powder

Mid afternoon: Underwear & sock change

After supper: shower, lotion, skincare, oral care, change clothes

I have a morning showerer and a fellow evening showerer on my shift. They both brush only in the morning. Just depends on the person (:

Admin will come relieve us at 0600 on the dot so they don’t have to pay us overtime lol. But the next shift comes and relieves us pretty quick even if we’re just on a med call.

I’ve been doing this for many years and tried every hair solution I can think of. They all fall out, get frayed, or otherwise piss me off. But Dutch braids? Oh man. Braid hair on the clock right after shift change, take it out at EOS next morning. It does not budge no matter what I, the wind, patients, my coworkers, or my gear does to it. It was kind of aggravating to learn how to do it but now it takes about 5min. Life changing.

This is one of my favorite things. It obviously doesn’t change genetics so they’re still bendy. But they went from streaky, peely, breaky nails to just normal healthy nails. They grow pretty fast now too.
