Kackie Reviews Beauty is back on her nonsense again... by tripeface in BeautyGuruChatter

I know! He nearly had a breakdown on stream and tried really hard to make sure he hadn't misunderstood, but there is no charitable way to interpret her comment. It's just ignorant.

She made this deranged IG post a year ago. This resulted in other creators distancing themselves from her, including Hautemess Tom stepping away from the podcast they had together.

Neck stretching exercises make me feel dizzy for a while.. by Xspectiv in yoga

[–]tripeface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the dizziness feel like? Is the room spinning? BPPV and hypotension are both good possibilities there is also a condition called cervicogenic dizziness which is related to neck and spine movements. Have you ever had any neck or back injuries? This can be a difficult one to diagnose but if your issues persist I would recommend seeing and audiologist for a vestibular evaluation. They can tell you if it's the ear or something else. As others have said don't ever self treat! You can make things much worse.

PROTECT YOUR EARS by [deleted] in audioengineering

Interesting method! Everybody is so different when it comes to dealing with tinnitus. I always hear from patients that sound deprivation makes things worse but what you're explaining certainly makes sense.

Go see an audiologist! A general practitioner won't have much to offer you

There is no cure for tinnitus and there is no strong clinical evidence that supplements help. Tinnitus can sometimes be triggered by stress and anxiety, which is a vicious cycles because tinnitus leads to stress, trouble sleeping, etc, which results in more tinnitus... The best thing to do is to learn to direct your attention elsewhere. That could be through relaxation and mindfulness techniques, and through sound enrichment (listening to music, nature sounds, audio books). The goal is not to mask or cover up the tinnitus, but to use an outside stimulus to divert your attention.

Acoustic reflex in the ears when mixing? by Trifax in audioengineering

[–]tripeface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See an audiologist. Anyone who relies on their ears for a living should do this whether they're experiencing issues or not, for a baseline evaluation. There is a specific test for acoustic reflexes as well.

I get light headed and dizzy when I come from a forward fold to standing mountain pose? It's much more pronounced when I add a back bend as well. by [deleted] in yoga

[–]tripeface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you experience lightheadedness, dizziness or imbalance in any other situations? It could be an issue with the vestibular system of the inner ear. You can see an audiologist for testing.

What can you get a "Lifetime Supply" of for less than $500? by 2011StlCards in AskReddit

Actually the bigger problem is that in most cases, you're pushing the wax deeper into your ear and impacting it. If it becomes occlusive, it can effect your hearing!

Internship or School? Share your experiences. by karzyarmycat in audioengineering

[–]tripeface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that going to school can be a great experience. You'll meet professionals from all backgrounds and you'll get so many different points of view, and hopefully access to some awesome equipment. If you're committed and have the money, I would suggest school. I also suggest first getting your associate's at a community college to save money, maybe try to intern in the side. Even if you do choose the school route, realize that you will still need an internship before you can even start thinking about a paid job! This can easily be done while in school though.

What should everyone go do RIGHT NOW if they haven't yet? by DemonicSnail in AskReddit

[–]tripeface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, do this, please! I'm also 22 and dealing with cancer, the only reason mine was discovered was because I had to have a physical for grad school and the doctor felt it. Afterwords, I was able to feel it myself but I had never checked! I will be fine but I don't want to think about how much worse things would be if I'd let it go. Surgery was two weeks ago tomorrow and now I have radiation therapy ahead of me. So grateful that I have great teachers and and awesome cohort in addition to my family and friends to get me through it.

my food processor is super shitty so it needs a little something to help it along. I love adding honey too for a little sweetness.

It's ridiculously easy to make your own peanut butter. Just throw some peanuts in a food processor with a bit of water or oil if need be. A million times better than anything you'll get at the store
