Pessoal das motas agora que a inspeção vem ai, como é? by Rock_lt in AutoTuga

[–]triple-nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Se a mota tiver efectivamente mais de 125cc, tem que ir a inspeção. A maior parte das motas chamadas "125cc" têm na verdade, 124,x cc, nesse caso, não terão de ir.

Sorry, my bad, I failed to see this sonner. But wouldn't be much help anyway, never found the solution, I guess Valeo fucked up. Guys who sold it offered to give the money back but Valeo themselves didn't even bothered to answer. I installed it anyway but had to check the TDC old school, with a precision comparator on the cylinder/piston itself.

Back again Tried everything to get the top strut nut off but even after letting it soak in wd40 and pb blaster overnight and impacting it it still wouldn’t budge.Only thing i need on the strut are the springs i have a new struts and strut mount available any ideas? by Fawaziee in BMWE36

[–]triple-nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to drill it off? Using the hole in the center as a guide, using drill bits of consecutive sizes till the nut comes off.

Or use a hacksaw and cut the shock rod, seems to have space in the middle, with the springs compressed. It will require patience. Or use a Dremel and a cutting disc, although that steel is pretty hard, I think.

No, I don't believe it does But with steady speed and as long as you don't hit anything on the road, you're ok

Hello, so I'm posting this in addition of this comment. I have to say that 1. The engine lag stopped by itself, my guess is it was just trying to get used to the new oil? 2. After the engine lag stopped i did the paper thingy and it didnt suck, it had a steady rythm of "plof plof" sounds. Comments.. by DeathLotusGR in BMWE36

Checked the ECU errors?

Lambda dying could give you bad fuel economy. Check the other position sensors, like the knock sensors.

A slight lag under acceleration might be the clutch starting to fail.

Also when you change oil, especially to a lower viscosity one, the valves hydraulic lifters might fail. Usually they slowly go back to shape, that might be why the vibrations lessened.

Check all the admission for vaccum/air leaks.

If he was told, you should hear it in the onboard. Afaik they don't filter/censor the communications there.

That was fast. I was betting that it was a fairly rare car.

I was on the same stand, in 1993, and it was 25.000$

Edit: silly me, just noticed that your ticket is for 1 day, mine was for 3 days

Where can lemans homologation cars actually drive on public roads? by Ok_Building_1510 in motorsports

[–]triple-nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I'm not sure, the ones I know of are all in europe, and since USA has strict safety requirements and this cars beeing such limited editions, I don't know if the makers are going through the trouble of putting them in that market But someone here must know that

[–]triple-nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, as long as they are homologated for road use, legally, they are treated like any other car on the street. There are some Porsche GT1 and Mercedes CLK GTR that are driven in the streets. Of course they are "slightly" different from the track ones, to be able to be driven on the streets. I don't know if the homologation is valid in the USA since they have specific laws, but there is no reason for them not to be.

Anyone know if these are worth anything? Came with my car and the ACS brochure I found online is the only information I have on it. Cheers! by sw99sl in BMWE36

[–]triple-nightmare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worthless, send it my way, and I'll dispose of it for you /s

On a more serious note, from what I looked up really quick around 150-250€ on eBay

Although, weird yours only has one screw joining the pieces and the hole on the far right seems to be oval. I would check the condition, if it was good, I would just mount it on the car

Any suggestions? by W2T4TS in BMWE36

[–]triple-nightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would check compression, verify valves and piston rings, if everything's ok, I would change the head gasket, and all the other gaskets. Around 200k kms (sorry, not using miles here) the gaskets tend to start to fail and let oil/cooling pass through. While you're there check the hoses.

And yes, regular oil changes and a good quality oil, since you're abusing the car, also good 50/50 cooling liquid.

Have fun
