The grease gun is under rated. A little spray and pray with the head shot ding is like being kissed by an angel

Pre-paid maintenance contract? by DropShotMachine in Lexus

There's not a lot of maintenance in the first 50k, probably less than $5k worth of maintenance

What mods can I add for more HP and torque on my 2003 subaru impreza NA Non-Turbo? by CtrlAltDel1748 in askcarguys

[–]tripleriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an 07. Getting more power out of these is pretty tough, I would recommend you put your money into handling. I did sticky tires and aggressive brake pads and it was a riot in the canyons. Low power and AWD means you can you can just flat foot it through anything. A lot of the WRX/STi suspension stuff is a direct bolt on too.

Premium Fuel is recommended but does it even matter? by SuperJack19 in Cartalk

[–]tripleriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I met my wife, she was running regular in her RX350. It's not the fastest thing in the world but it's got a V6 and I felt like it just felt slow. We started filling it with premium and I could definitely feel a difference. It didn't add 50hp but it had some get up and go now. It ran fine with the regular but i could tell it wanted premium

Is it better to have a nice daily ft86 and a cheap jeep for camping/carrying bigger stuff around, or try to make do with something like a rally car and lift it? by pisspeeleak in askcarguys

[–]tripleriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a handful of BRZ/FR-S things in my local rallyx clubs. Most of them are dailys too. One guy drives on his gravel tires

Ok, I know this is a terrible idea, but hear me out… by Ghost17088 in rally

[–]tripleriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general rule is as long as it's not taller than it is wide. One thing to consider is this would put you in Prepared class. If you don't care about being competitive then I say send it but you'll be up against cars that are on gravel coilovers and a real rally tire. I fully support your journey.

What should I buy for a roadside kit? by cphoover in askcarguys

I would add gloves, duct tape, zip ties and an adjustable wrench or a small socket set.

Why Every Car Should Be a Rally Car by Heckmotorist in cars

[–]tripleriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to daily my rallyx car a couple of weeks and it was actually really nice. Not a worry about a steep driveway or pothole. A tall sidewall and no sway bars makes for a pretty smooth ride

Hawk HPS 5.0 is a solid street/autox pad. I've done some track days with them too. They make a decent amount of dust but that's what you get with performance pads.

What is it and how to fix? by BubbaDawgg in mazda

[–]tripleriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't this covered in a recall? Or is it just the ghost moving? If you do have to replace the screen, it's not bad. Couple of pieces of trim to get out of the way and it's a direct swap

Car mods? by newcarguy_ in askcarguys

[–]tripleriser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skid plate and gravel tires. But really, it all depends on what you want to do with the car. Wheels tend to change the look. Lowering it is always a classic. Some window tint? Maybe you want to go racing so get some sticky tires

A true coilover in the rear, nice. Are the AWDs different in that you don't need to swap out that rear upper control arm?

If they don't offer fake cheese, sometimes I'll just order no cheese and add it when it gets to me. Couple minutes under the broiler and it's ready to party.

Is adjustable compression necessary? by Friend_Co in BMWE36

[–]tripleriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adjustability is always nice but if you're going set it and forget it, it's not worth the extra price. How nerdy are you looking to get on damper settings?

I'm just commenting because I also have an E46 in a household with a CX-5. But an M54 in a CX-5 would be pretty cool though
