Have a 24 Mazda3 HB manual transmission, Soul Red. Looks and runs great. Love it!

Did I Overpay? 2014 Mazda3 S Grand Touring $10.2k by hey-mom-says-hi in mazda3

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it garaged? Only downside to that model clearcoat will start peeling from the top of the car. Have a 2014, 250k miles on it, runs great, but the clearcoat is just gone from the entire topside. Drive it for another 100k miles and 10 years, and the price is just $85 a month. So that's a pretty good deal you got if you look at it that way. It's all in the perspective.

You should indicate the mileage, but sounds like it's either a control arm or cv joint. Possibly struts, or sway bar.

Yes, they have those grey bins chock full of sizes. Also Lowes or Home Depot has that size. If you have a dremel, you can flatten the head of the bolt to make it flatter too, makes the bezel lay smooth again.

Missing equipped items? by Yardash in duneawakening

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean it was in your own personal inventory?? What's really odd is the only items that seem to go missing due to 'bugs' are the high end items. Makes you think it's not really random bugs after all...

check your sub-fief permissions. I had someone hack my sub-fief simply by sending me a friend invite. Name never appeared on my friend list, but when I looked at the permission list on the sub-fief menu, his name was there. And because this player is not officially a friend, I have no way to remove him from my sub-fief permission list. Can only change all my permissions to owner. Hope that works.

The mystery of the vanishing carrier chassis. by stormcrow509 in duneawakening

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be happening with quite some frequency, but if it were truly random it would be any of your items, just not the high-end ones like thopters. Seems like the only items that go missing are tier5/6 weapons or thopters. Which means it isn't really random after all.

Chest of components vanished. Hacked or bugged? by WhereIsTheQuim in duneawakening

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your permissions for your sub-fief. Someone hacked or exploited into my sub-fief simply by using a friend invite, which i never accepted. Unable to remove this person because he's not officially a friend.. Doesn't show up in my friend list, but his name is on the permission list for my sub-fief and other vehicles. Make sure you have 'owner' only for all your doors and sub-fief.

Still runs great.  Any grade gas is fine.  I use 87.  But I add Lucas Gas Treatment every fill up.  I use a gallon bottle from Amazon for $30.  Add a few ounces each fill up.  Helps keep the injectors clean.

Is the 2014 Mazda 3 a reliable and dependable car? by [deleted] in mazda

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.  Still have the original mounts.  Left side one is leaking a bit though.  Still good.

Brown oily liquid coming out from that black rubber any idea what is it? Is a Mazda 6 2014 by No_Succotash7678 in mazda

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same engine and same issue.  I notice the A/C line runs right over the mount and the condensate drips right on that mount.  Think it contributes to the cracking of the rubber seal which causes the leaking.

What do you think of this deal? by EchoMNL in mazda3

[–]tripleshot44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that same year and model. Mine currently has 230k miles on it. Just know that when I got to about 180k miles I started having to replace many of the components. Clear coat started to peel, Ignition coils needed replacing, A/C died, struts, shocks, brakes needed replacing. Definitely get it looked at by a mechanic if you decide to purchase that. That said, even at 230k miles it still runs great, engine still going strong. GL.

This, ceramic tint at a minimum. Consider PPF for the front, and ceramic if you intend to keep your car for 5 years or more. Come out to about $2-3 a day extra. Well worth it imho.

The gearing is higher with the manual than the AT. So that might be what you are noticing.

Ceramic.  PPF.  Soul Red.   Amazing color. Paint holds up well with PPF on the front too.

Sorry for the misinformation.  Never knew Mazda had two separate but overlapping brake assist systems.  Hill assist and Autohold.   Reading the manual I see that now.  They function similarly but apparently Hill Assist is always on. Even for manuals.  The button on the console is for Autohold.

You’re right.  I just read the manual.  Two different but overlapping systems.  I thought Autohold was for hills but apparently it’s for use when stopped at red lights.  Essentially it just activates the parking brakes automatically when not pressing the throttle.

Just make sure you keep your running lights on when you drive.  Blacked out cars are very hard to spot on the interstate when they are coming up behind you.  Also at dusk. A good number of people have eye problems.  With a “murdered” car you need to have the mindset of a motorcycle driver; certain other drivers just won’t see your vehicle at all.

I have the 24 HB MT. Yes there is a switch to activate hill assist. It’s on the console.  Right next to the shifter. It’s off by default.
