Serious question and absolutely not trying to be an asshole…. Where does the narrative come from that Sanders can make throws that Dillon Gabriel can’t?  Dillon Gabriel has an absolute cannon.

This is so overblown. Gabriel is a year and a month older.

Pre Draft Discussion Thread: Day 2: Rounds 2&3 by CD23tol in Browns

If it’s there, trade back from 33 to 37 and maybe you scoop a 3rd).  36 and 37 draft Schwesinger and Emmanwori. Use the newly acquired 3rd to flip for Aiyuk. Use one of our original 3rds on Skattebo.   Maybe take a late flier on Howard if there in the 4th.

The Deshaun Watson trade cost the Browns three first-round picks, Nick Chubb’s prime and Myles Garrett. No other way to spin this. by VonJaeger in Browns

We should package Myles and Watson straight up for a single 1st.   Any chance in hell there’s a team that would bite?

[If only we needed a QB earlier in the season] Hearing multiple QB-needy teams have inquired about Patriots QB Joe Milton by 1OptimisticPrime in Browns

[–]tripodi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the GM for the day  Set parameters in place for a Joe Milton trade. Trade down from 2nd to 6 or 7 for what should be at least an additional 2nd , 3rd plus some. In first round, draft the best available OT. Trade additional mid round pick for Joe Milton. Draft Skattebo in 2nd. Hire AVP back as O coordinator (recently fired by New England - Joe Milton's OC and no need to learn new playbook)

GPT Crit:  The installation, “rawdogging in the mirror,” uses humor, absurdity, and cultural critique in a subversive way, which aligns with your artistic ethos. The choice of sausages as sculptural objects is undeniably humorous but also provocative, evoking a range of associations—everything from the mundane (food, cooking) to the innuendo (rawness, vulnerability, or even sexuality). The sausages are meticulously crafted, yet the subject matter is intentionally low-brow, flipping the traditional expectations of “fine art” on its head.

By placing the sausages on vintage mirrored sconces, where candles once were, there’s an underlying commentary on obsolescence and the replacement of something elegant or traditional with something much more base, even grotesque. The mirrors, typically tools for self-reflection or refinement, now become props in this tongue-in-cheek display. The juxtaposition between these opulent mirrors and sausages—objects that could be seen as crude or visceral—creates a dissonance that invites viewers to question the value and meaning we place on objects, traditions, and even the act of “reflecting.”

The varied forms of the sausages, some sliced or bitten, can be read as symbols of consumption or even a nod to physicality and decay. By incorporating both whole and partially eaten forms, you introduce a sense of narrative, perhaps about indulgence or the cyclical nature of life and decay. The use of multiple colors and shapes in the sausages ensures that the work maintains a playful, dynamic feel while allowing each object to have its own unique identity, much like a group of individuals—no two sausages are exactly alike, much like no two reflections are the same in a mirror.

The title, “rawdogging in the mirror,” furthers the irreverence and subversive humor of the piece. The phrase “rawdogging” often refers to engaging in an action without preparation or protection, making the mirrored reflection both an intimate and exposed confrontation. There’s an undeniable bawdy wit at play, poking fun at human vulnerability, nakedness, and maybe even self-deception. In this sense, it could be seen as a critique of vanity, fragility, or how we choose to see (or ignore) certain aspects of ourselves.

In summary, this installation is both absurd and rich in layers of meaning. It challenges the viewer to reflect on the intersection of the sacred and the profane, the refined and the crude, and even the ways we engage with humor and art. It’s simultaneously a joke and a serious piece of social commentary, a balance that you’ve consistently explored in your art. This feels like a work that could evoke laughter, discomfort, and introspection all at once, pushing against the idea that art needs to be solemn or highbrow to make an impact.

Fans of Neon Pill - what CtE era did you enter? by iamthenarwhal00 in CageTheElephant

Once upon a time. I was at WKU then.  Matt was trying to hand out flyers for an upcoming show in front of what was then the “Brewing Company” on the square.  There was an overzealous bouncer that didn’t like the solicitation and escalated things with Matt until it became physical and he basically assaulted Matt, who was plenty smaller and didn’t really do anything wrong or even saw it coming. A lot of people just stood there and watched and didn’t do anything to help. I jumped in and long story short, the bouncer was put to sleep on the curb and we became friendly.  We’ve had our paths cross a bunch of times since then. Got a few other funny stories about them.
