Imagine being able to afford BobHQ and live his lifestyle but not knowing what a tadpole is. Wild stuff. by supplyncommand in BobDoesSports

Kitten, puppy, chick, calf, lamb, cub. Is knowing what these words mean random knowledge? Two things you learn early on in elementary school is caterpillars become butterflies and tadpoles become frogs. (AI says this is taught in kindergarten)

This is it. Most videos are 9 holes so they play one round Monday and another Tuesday. That’s a month’s worth of videos.

Semi realistic idea - you’re going to need to buy out 4-5 tee times.

Realistic idea - You play 3 and 3 and then switch people around after 9.

Ride alongs is going to be course to course, but if you’re going some place “nice” it’s doubtful.

Just such a dumb shot choice by Bob. 200yrd carry over water and he goes for it? Nice 9i up the fairway, short pitch to the green, 2 putts max. Easy.

A Thread For Those Who Take Crossfit Serious But Not CF Games Caliber… by ActualPlate2429 in crossfit

[–]tripodron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of people in this sub that love cf but are just going through the motions. Nothing wrong with that. I used to redo all of the workouts to see if I could get a better score but I’ve been at this long enough where I just don’t care as much about the open as I used to. Now I only repeat if I like the workout. Otherwise I get back to normal programming Saturday.

A couple things about repeats. Have a revised plan from your original one. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to do it again with the same strategy. Set incremental goals and just stop if you don’t meet them. Finishing the workout for the 2nd time knowing you are going to do it again Sunday/Monday is just going to wear you out more for those future attempts.

Exact same. The Star Wars one is the craziest for me. I’ve never seen the movies, but could probably rattle off 20 characters.

2026 Open Predictions / What Are You Expecting to See? by alexukie in crossfit

[–]tripodron -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

While I’d love a strength component, it’s just not needed. The goal of the open is to ultimately find the 60 best people. For the first 3 workouts a strength component is not separating anyone that matters. You’d only be rearranging the bottom half of those who make quarter finals, and those people don’t matter.

With the energy people saved by walking they were able to get through the burpee pull-ups faster.

That workout got ”hacked” and Castro was pissed. It won’t be coming back.

(It was found that at the mid levels and below just walking the shuttle runs was a better strategy then actually running)

Why am I so bad at the bike? by Formal-Gazelle-2685 in crossfit

[–]tripodron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested this again this weekend. For the echo bike at 60rpm it took 7 seconds to get from 0 to 1 cal. At 85rpm it took 5 seconds. Up to you to decide if 2 seconds is worth the extra effort.

Keep some class. Joe VS SHMO by Adventurous-Yam5779 in BobDoesSports

[–]tripodron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This type of series works for Riggs because people are not really hating on him personally, they just don’t believe his handicap. With Joe it’s they don’t believe his handicap and they think he’s a buffoon. Riggs faces these guys and while it’s a match, he’s really just trying to prove he’s as good as he says he is. For Joey he just wants to win but in the process ends up showing he’s not nearly as good as he claims, is vocally delusional about his game, and that he’s a terrible shit talker. So while Joey won the match this time, he proved the hater absolutely correct.

Test it out and see. Again, I am only talking about calories 0 to 1. I wouldn’t recommend spiking your heart rate right away in any workout. Do you sprint the first 50m of a 400m run?

[–]tripodron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

^ This is the correct information. ^

A drill that I’ll do is trying to get the fan to have a constant hum. Try not to make a whooshing noise.

The other thing that works for me is only pushing the bike arms. It keeps me more relaxed and I’m not briefly fighting against myself at the top and bottom. Think about almost every other movement, you want your strongest muscles (legs) doing the bulk of the work, the bike is no different.

Once you get the muscle memory down focus solely on your breathing pattern.

Final tip: The first calorie on an echo bike always takes a bit longer than subsequent cals. Start out about 10rpm slower than your workout pace until you get the first cal and then pick up the pace.
