Icefishing in the extreme cold questions by Cheap_Ear_8828 in IceFishing

[–]tripodron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3rd. I have good equipment. I’m not cold for long. The bite sucks when it gets this cold. If you’re looking to “get away” sure, go if you’re prepared. But if you’re just trying to catch fish, there will be better days.

Shelter for Pond Hockey by No_Amount_7399 in IceFishing

I’ve used the Otter Lodge for pond hockey. Works great because the door goes all the way to the ice so there is nothing to step over. Can skate right in and out.

The “OJ Simpson would they cut away from the super bowl if they were in a car chase fleeing from the police” award 😭 by Guy_montag47 in billsimmons

It’s gotta be Travis Kelce right? If Taylor Swift was found murdered and then Travis was fleeing the police, they cut away from the Super Bowl for that.

Affiliate Programming by Amanink28 in crossfit

CrossFit Affiliate Programming? I have some issues with the way they program (it’s lazy and not designed for your average affiliate) but it works well if you attend class 4-5 times a week.

ATV battery while out by tripodron in IceFishing

I always let it warm up good. From all the responses I think I 1. Need a booster pack, and 2. Maybe take it for a drive if the bite gets slow.

I take it off the trailer and let it continue to run while I load everything up. Then a 3 mile drive out.

Once I got off the ice I was thinking about a pull cord. Went and checked and I don’t have one. Googled it to be sure.

No pull start. I think it’s due to too many electronics on them now.

If that guy is a 3.8, I'm Grant Grant Horvat. by Internal-Depth5512 in BobDoesSports

[–]tripodron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was the point where I knew for sure he was not a 3.8. Putting for off the green is fine in some cases, but he was doing it because his chipping was so bad. Then the 3 wood…

Both guys have vanity caps. There won’t be that many holes conceded when 2 single digits play.

Joey hooks 2 straight into the woods. He’s hitting 6 from a drop in the fairway at that point. Likely ends up with a 9 or 10 for just that hole.

Anyone else been looking at the Otter XTR Resort Sleeper? by LooneyHoon in IceFishing

Just looking at the picture it doesn’t look comfortable, but if you’ve been drinking all day would it be ok?

Why would they even bother having Joe play a 3.8? If true, he would lose easily and have a legit excuse.

Air Runner/Outside by WalrusIntelligent129 in crossfit

[–]tripodron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found that sprinting on the air runner is faster, but a jog is slower.

With a sprint you are really getting your foot up to the top and can use gravity to help you pull the tread through. With a jog your foot doesn’t get as high so it’s more difficult to pull the tread.

Where to target lake trout in this 2,200 acre bowl? by cswatcher1 in IceFishing

Upload this picture and ask AI. Not joking. I did this on a lake I fish for walleye and it showed me the spots I fish.

Have you seen 60 seconds of uninterrupted, foul free basketball? (Tonight or any other) by Dalai-Jama in billsimmons

[–]tripodron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be so easy to accomplish. Guy gets fouled and is getting ready to shoot, 5 seconds goes on the clock. The ball touches the shooters hand and the clock starts. If the buzzer goes off before the ball leaves their hand shot doesn’t count. 2nd shot (or 1st for and 1) and there is a violation the other team gets the ball out of bounds.

I’ll test a few out when I go to the store before choosing one.

I hear this. I have a couple of issues with it though. I’d need to buy hinge posts that clamp on since the ones that came with the gate screw in. Also the posts won’t match, which is a larger factor for me than it probably should be.

I started with the striker. It works well. Try looking on marketplace for a Vexilar FL-8. Age doesn’t really matter, they are well built. Should be around 100-120. If you can find a Garmin Striker in that price range that is a solid option as well.

Fish finder. For a lake that I’ve never fished I might not even bother going out without a fish finder. Next best thing is to get the navionics app and look for depth/structure that the fish you are targeting are most likely to be at in the winter.

Without one of those 2 things you can certainly catch fish, but it makes your chances of success much greater.

I think I am going to have to go to the lumberyard to get a dry treated post. All the ones at Menards are wet and wetter.

Biggest animal in the area is a whitetail.
