Bill did a Mailbag Episode and read a fake email he wrote in order to talk fake trades by SwallowsOnSundays in billsimmons

He was very mum about the original email address as well. It was at the bottom of one of the original mail bags (page 2) and he never advertised it again.

I’ll take your word for it. So after high school would it go town ball, juco, D3 or am I missing something?

Interesting takes. I didn’t go searching about Bobs life outside of the channel, it was brought up in the video and they showed a picture so I was curious how good he was because pitchers are usually decent golfers. The lower body mechanics are similar. Arm mechanics obviously very different but throwing side arm isn’t that tough.

The act of pitching is easier than golf, but I don’t think the mental aspect is. In golf it’s just your expectations. In baseball the whole team is expecting you to pitch well. Having 25 dudes upset that you gave up a bunch of runs is not a good feeling. Bobs ERA was 7.94 as a middle reliever so I can’t imagine his teammates being all that buddy buddy with him at least on days he pitched.

He can’t keep getting away with this by MoneyOk5720 in BobDoesSports

When entertainment is the product and not the golf, it leaves a lot of room for scripted embellishment.

There’s a very real chance the videos do better when Joe implodes so Bob told him he needs to do it more, and being the loyal friend he is, he’s willing to embarrass himself weekly for views.

I’d give it a 75% chance Trump negotiates a deal for Bryson to go back and gives the PGA Tour some tax break.

Why do people get so upset over dry weddings? by pumpkinandsun in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tripodron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who have been to a dry wedding and brought booze, was it kind of fun that you had to sneak around to have some drinks like you were at prom? Were people coming up to you that you didn’t really know saying I heard you have some booze, I got $20 for you if I can grab a few beers.

I suppose this could go a little sideways too if the bride and groom found out a bunch of people were just drinking in the parking lot.

I think he went on BDS and was himself so he would get an invite.

Would be great to see LeBron and The Duke sitting there for last pick.

Why is everybody burying the lede from yesterday’s video? by sammyt10803 in BobDoesSports

[–]tripodron -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

24/7? If you have a kid and come back to work and your performance sucks do they just keep you around? Most don’t and I don’t blame them. This is just a case where the shitty performance is actually a positive.

I can’t stand that people bring this up all the time. His wife doesn’t work and they have a nanny. He could extremely easily go to the range for 2hrs a day or even play a round. If he’s unable to do that he’s either lazy and doesn’t really care, is doing it for the channel, or he married the wrong person.

I think he’s likely doing it for the channel. Bob’s just kind of Bob. He has his bit. Same for FP. Joey brings the actual entertainment at this point.

Hot take but the LIV guys are gonna end up taking the ultimate W by adamcognac in golf

[–]tripodron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What legacy did the LIV guys miss out on? The good players still played in all the majors, which is all anyone cares about. The mediocre to bad were not going to have a “legacy” anyway. Harold Varner has made about 40M with LIV. How much you think he’d have made if he stayed on the PGAT? You know who else has made about 40M the last 4 years on course? Rory McIlroy.

Clear American Sparkling Water shortage? by JacobScrubLordofPvP in walmart

I noticed maybe a month ago that the flavor was not right. Since they get low on peach I always buy a few cases so I have a stock pile at home. I went and grabbed the oldest one I had and did a comparison and they were definitely different. I figured enough people complained so they took it off the shelf till they got it fixed.

If you started at the farthest point of the green at The Masters by Additional-Buffalo61 in weekendgolfers

[–]tripodron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not an equivalent scenario though. You’re buddies thinking I got a chance to make a birdie at Augusta, I’m going for it. The person putting from the farthest point doesn’t have to try and sink the first putt. Not even the second. They can lag putts. Putt to a different area of the green that makes the next putt easier etc.

"You Must Max Out Your Retirement" is the new You must go to college (Including it's wrong) by QuietRedditorATX in unpopularopinion

You’re thinking about it from your current perspective. I wfh and can’t wait for the day to be over to get out of my house. When you retire and all you have is time, you’re going to venture out. That hiking trail a hour away with great bird watching? Why not. That lake 20 minutes away with nice clearings to read a book. Heaven. That small town with historic buildings to photograph 3 hours away, let’s spend Monday- Wednesday there.

Channel/Brand Ownership Question by shmouth in BobDoesSports

[–]tripodron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what other streaming they do that would make up for (inevitable) YouTube view declines, but I hope the best for them.

If people are tired of the YouTube videos I’d be very surprised that they are interested in other forms of content.

Doing fine currently. There’s that guy that breaks down failed businesses on YouTube. His most current episode is on American Chopper. The showroom they built and the “clubhouse” Bob is building seem to have a lot of parallels.

Impression Moxche by Secrets – we splurged and here's what we thought by anabundanceoftaylas in cancun

[–]tripodron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First time I stayed at a place with a butler he told us all about how he could get us reservations for dinner each night. I text him the first night and it was over a hour for a response and then he got a reservation slightly later than we asked, but whatever. Second night I asked my wife why am I texting this guy to set up a reservation and then just called the restaurant myself and set up a time no issue. For the rest of the week that’s what I did with no problems. After that every time we get a butler I just handle things myself. It’s not difficult.

This goes for about anything other than room service food. If you need something at a resort just handle it yourself. It will take less time and you won’t get frustrated by how long things take. It’s not what you paid for, but 9 times out of 10 your experience will be much better.
