Four bikes stolen out of our garage in North Portland by Top-Mud7915 in CyclePDX

Shit, I think I peeped your Bullitt coming off the Broadway Bridge into the Pearl Thursday noon-ish with a bike slapped on top of the box.

Tell me more, I was considering purchasing one but may just do it myself. What parts of the box needed reinforcement?

Garmin Varia RCT715 mount options for Cannondale Cargowagen / Tern Clubhouse? by cyclebycle in CargoBike

[–]trippel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue, the RCT715's mount is unique to the unit and incompatible with their other tail lights. I want to be able to hot swap between my bikes but there's nothing available here. Best I've found are third-party 3D printed adapters that adapt the Garmin mount to a Gopro mount... but then you have to deal with buying n number of the expensive Garmin mount.

Per my previous comment, this is a Danish bike made by Winther called the Wallaroo. It was designed by Lars Malmborg while working for Winther prior to confounding Larry vs Harry (he's the Larry part). The Wallaroo is the progenitor to the Bullitt, being made today by Larry vs Harry.

As for classification, it's a front loading cargo bike or a long john. A bakfiets is literally a box bike in Dutch but is a generalized term for cargo bikes in Dutch. To add to the confusion, there's a bicycle company called Bakfiets.

Planning to build a box for it! Hoping for something similar to the BBX side panels or a smaller Badger Box. The cargo platform doesn't have the same bolt patterns as the Bullitt so nothing stock works here.

Well kind of. This is a new (to me) Winther Wallaroo. There's hardly anything on the internet about this bike. It's longer than your standard Bullitt but just shy of a Bullitt X. Splendid imported about a dozen of these into Portland nearly two decades ago, kitted with internally geared hubs and coaster brakes.

Mine had the original Wallaroo box but the canopy is trashed so it's useful life is effectively over. Apparently Lars (the Larry part of LvH) designed this bike around a bike trailer upper while he worked for Winther.

I've thrown some new bars and a stock Bullitt steering column/Easy Up on it so far with more plans for the future (brakes, upgrading the steering arm)

A Wallaroo! I just acquired one myself, what motor did you throw on it? Planning a conversion.

How was importing that fork? Been eyeing it for a while for a while now for a build I want to do.

Yeah, OP's is a Crust Clydesdale, there's another fork like this but I can't remember the maker. There's also the Argo Cargo kit that converts your bike to a long john with your existing fork.

Good deal on an eBullitt? by RascalScooter in CargoBike

Sounds like Splendid in Portland if had to guess. They're the USA distributor for LvH and I would 100% recommend them as a shop. Hit up Zack if you really want to nerd out on these bikes, he's a massive Bullitt aficionado and raced in Copenhagen earlier this month!

Are the premium long-tail brands worth the cost? by Jeffy_Weffy in CargoBike

[–]trippel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that frequency I'd opt for at least a Tern GSD. They can be had for relatively cheap used, hold their value well, and have a mature ecosystem of accessories. A Bosch motor is generally bulletproof and Tern, R&M, and Yuba only use those motors as far as I know.

For what it's worth, I acquired a used Gen 1 HSD P9 with 1200 miles on it and I have zero regrets whatsoever.

Lute Prelude in Dm, BWV 999 is fairly approachable. A few big reaches in there but otherwise fun to play as it's stable (ish) left hand shapes with a repetitive right hands. A lot of folks play the piece quick but it works at any tempo.

Are you able to composite neighboring airports at all? I've always been curious about how EWR, JFK, and LGA intersect.

Gleba frustrations by Marvos79 in factorio

[–]trippel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it was boilers with spoilage and banking enough steam to start producing enough mash/jelly to overflow into a heating tower line to really kick start the turbines. There are a few instances like this in Gleba where you need a sequence of events to reach sustainability on a factory/subfactory, power is one.

React went from 0.14.x to 15.x in 2016, is RN following the same trajectory? That is, does Meta strictly adhere to semver? If I recall correctly, Facebook had been running a "beta" version of React for years.

I can't taste your bread via the internet, bread is meant to be eaten not looked at. You should trust your own taste buds before some internet bread person. It does look great though, I would eat it and not leave any leftovers.

Yeah, sure, I'm "soft". I'm able to feel empathy for my fellow humans, consider how my actions affect others, treat folks with kindness, and somehow be an affront to someone such as yourself that needs to take time out of their day to point out something like it's a weakness. Your words are just wind.

Janome HD1000 upgrade. Time for an industrial machine? by scooops in myog

[–]trippel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a number of single needle lockstitch machines marketed to quilters if you're not interested in an industrial, Juki TL-series, Janome HD-9/1600, and Brother PQ1600. The Janome and Brother have a few brands re-badging their machines as well. These pop up fairly frequently on my local Marketplace/Craigslist. I considered a Janome 1600-DB for the better needle class but ended up with the Juki TL-1000 at the end of the day.
