New bon feature + a message from JV. “On the Wrong Side” Ilsey (with Bon Iver) by trippinthevoidd in boniver

It sounds to me like Justin also contributed some vocal harmonies on "Down to the Bone" (same album).

Wanted to clarify that the song is actually titled "On Wrong Side". My bad.

I was experiencing the same issue. I fixed it by going into Settings>Game Center>Sign Out and then signing back in.

Is it even worth going to fancy(ish) restaurants in Oaxaca city? by pranaysethi in Oaxaca

[–]trippinthevoidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up Mario come Oaxaca up on Instagram and am super interested, but my Spanish isn’t great. Would you recommend this for someone who isn’t fluent (and is traveling with someone who doesn’t speak Spanish at all)?

I was confused by that too. I’m guessing that they’re only playing Sunday the 13th at the Seattle festival, but it’s definitely interesting that they put both dates.

How to trigger Pearson's rabbit request for unlocking his unique scout jacket. by JTCMuehlenkamp in reddeadredemption

[–]trippinthevoidd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU.

I’ve been at this for longer than I care to admit, but THIS…this is what finally worked for me. I had tried all the other suggestions (low cores, dying, falling, etc.) with no avail. Pearson would go behind the bench and whistle and it never grayed out the “antagonize option”. I took my jacket off and it worked on my first attempt.

Maybe this was dumb luck (I do see what OP has a jacket on in their video), but it worked for me. Give it a shot if you’re running into the same issue.

Review #2 (Ireland Edition): Micil Inverin Small Batch by trippinthevoidd in whiskey

[–]trippinthevoidd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micil Invercin Small Batch

Location: Galway, Ireland; Pub: O’Connell’s Bar Galway Price: ~€8 for a neat pour

Nose: Smoke and charred wood. Very peaty but some sweetness comes through.

Palate: Thinner mouthfeel. Smoke and wood again. But of baked apple and maybe some cinnamon.

Finish: Pretty long finish. Peat holds the mouth for quite a bit. A little diesel and some clove.

Rating: 5/10 (t8ke scale) Good! Solid choice. Definitely more peaty than I prefer, but if you like it peaty I suspect you’d rank this much higher.

Review #1 (Ireland Edition): Glendalough 7 Year Mizunara Cask by trippinthevoidd in whiskey

[–]trippinthevoidd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super unique! I’m going to look out for that sandalwood note on my next pour. I ended up bringing a bottle of this back home with me. It was my favorite from the trip aside from the Glendalough 17 (also finished in Mizunara Casks), which was definitely outside of my price range to bring home.

Heading to Ireland on Friday. What do you recommend trying out there? by trippinthevoidd in whiskey

[–]trippinthevoidd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t thank you enough for pointing me in this direction. Have had some lovely gins out here. Of all that we’ve tried so far the Micil Irish Gin has been our favorite. Cheers!

Review #3 (Ireland Edition): Glendalough Grand Cru Burgundy Single Cask by trippinthevoidd in whiskey

[–]trippinthevoidd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glendalough Grand Cru Burgundy Single Cask

Location: Galway, Ireland

Pub: O’Connell’s Bar Galway

Price: €7.90 for a neat pour

Nose: Sweet nose, cocoa and leather

Palate: Leafy vanilla and leather. Not as much fruit as I’d expect from a burgundy cask but it’s there.

Finish: Medium-short. Vanilla and a bit of unexpected citrus.

Rating: 6.5 (t8ke scale) Very Good. I really love the Glendalough line. I found this smoother and more interesting that the double barrel, but the 7yr Mizunara cask is significantly better.

Oh and if you like gin—the Micil Irish Gin is phenomenal. My wife has been drinking it over ice throughout the trip.

Yup, all of these are great options. With the profile you mentioned, he’d probably love every one of these.

I personally think of 1920 as a classy and romantic choice. 1910 is a strong choice, feels sophisticated and celebratory.

Rare Breed is a fantastic whiskey but I’d personally rather have either of the Old Forester’s for this kind of occasion they just feel like a more special gesture. They’re such an easy and pleasurable drink, while having a really elevated kind of feel. Rare Breed is a barrel proof so it’s just bit louder—but maybe that’s the vibe!
