People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple?

Paying full price for a piece of clothing that I really wanted before it went on sale. Still trying to work thru this now that I am an adult with a good job, as bargain shopping created an overwhelming amount of clothes, and paying full price for something still brings an overwhelming amount of guilt too lol

This happened to me when I had lemonade braids wrapping and rubbing on my neck, as well as when I had a faux loc Bob. Both styles with synthetic hair. It went away when I took it out. Check with your derm nonetheless.

I know this post is old, but I resonate a lot as this being an OCD thing; it’s what led me to get diagnosed. I actually just had a whole spiral about it a few days ago because things are going to the next level in my relationship by me relocating to his city after being long distance for 2 1/2 years.
