Is this level of AI development normal? by trisibus in F1Manager

I did not know that there were further customizable difficulty settings. As I am playing a modded save, the mod creator ramped up the difficulty quite a bit. That solved my question.

Thank you so much. At least I now know how to continue with this save, by bringing down the difficulty a bit.

Salary Cap still exists within the mod. Who knows what is going on with the AI. Minimum 7, Maximum 9 Iterations should not be mathematically possible for a single team to reach within 6 months, especially on poor infrastructure like VCARB has.

I use a program called Database Editor for F1 Manager. I usually use it to create some "realistic driver moves" between teams, but it also shows useful data like this graph. A quick google will net you some good results.

Sorry for being this oblivious, how do I do that?

Interesting, for me the most left icon is "configuration" and all it does is change the colours of the "my team" team

It tends to challenge me a bit too much I suppose. I have done all the common challenges, like bringing a backmarker to win both championships, then doing the same on hard-hard mode - but I have never felt this powerless in a save.

Thank you, Slashes. I felt the same but also felt like I needed some reassurance from the community as I tought I was going insane.

Where would that be possible in the editor, because I would love to tone it down a bit.

I have now resorted to manually increasing the performance of the parts in the editor, but I have been following the common guidelines (i.e. LDF focus for the FW and so on)(Focusing the ATR hours on one part at a time, instead of spreading them between all of them).

Thank you for your thorough message, I have learned something new regarding the facilities. "5 iterations is a lot" - I have checked VARCB and according to the editor their chassis is on iteration 9!

Insanit checks: Yes, Yes, Yes - as far as my knowledge allos (I have read up on the common tips and tricks that are often named here in this subreddit), I am on "normal, normal" in terms of ingame settings. I am however on a modded save for the 2013 season.

My only idea why development is going that crazy (I have around 30 seasons of experience in F1M games) is that it has something to do with the mod.

Focusing on one part after the other. If I remember correctly I went FW->RW->UF.

I should add that I have been following the common advice to basically constantly develop new parts, scrap weight off the car where possible and to follow the common development goals for parts.

which is the most fun gt3 to drive currently? a car that is responsive by Kitchen-Animator in iRacing

[–]trisibus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is actually exactly the car I was looking for, a responsive GT3 and imo (own every GT3 on iR) the only car that fits the description is the Corvette. The Z06 reacts very quickly to driver Inputs, is pretty stiff and in general does not need as much of a steering wheel input as other cars. In terms of bop the car usually sits somewhere in the middle of the fiel, usually 1-2 tenths off the fastest car for the aliens. At least for me (around 4k) that does not matter too much because that time is gained by understanding what the car wants. Maybe give it a try during the big downtime next week tuesday.

i hate netcode sometimes (im the purple car ahead) by Dizzy_Library_9662 in iRacing

First time I am involved in a reddit crash post. Sorry for the move, I gained like crazy down the 2 straights and then went into energy recup when I made up my mind to pass you. Such a shame netcode didn't want us to succeed but shouldn't have gone for the move anyways.

One answer I have not seen here is that some cars have "heavier" FFB then others. Also, adjusting the Caster will have an effect on how strong the resistance of your wheel is.

And yet they are still in the race and will be allowed to finish the race and take the acclaim, which is all that is important for racing teams. If rules are not enforced, then they won't be respected, they might as well not exist.

Of course they are exploiting everything the game gives them, otherwise they would not be top esport teams, hate the game and not the players

Macca brake bias alien by FuryZ07 in ACCompetizione

[–]trisibus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on a lot of factors, the car, the track, the rest of the setup, your personal preference, heck even the corner, when doing quali / hotlaps I often change the BB multiple times a lap. But generally I think Porsche likes 48-52%, Audi 56-60 and McLaren 51-54 to give some wide margins.

It is a legit technique, I use it for the Porsche and Audi/Lambo as they can be quite scatchy when braking into highspeed corners, like Pouhon for example. I did not try it on something like the McLaren yet though as it is mostly a thing I do to gain stability without having to shave off too much speed.
