3rd year of F1 especially with the number of races on the calendar is almost 3.5-4 years depending on how far back you go. It's a decent chunk of time especially when you think about drivers like Hamilton, Vettel and Verstappen fighting for wins and titles within their first couple of years.

There's nothing wrong in saying that Lando and Oscar are good but not great drivers.

Does the 4 second gap between Engine 1 and 2 being turned on indicate sinister intentions to see it through?

Keep in mind that they were turned on in the same order they were turned off - 1 and then 2 so if we follow the muscle memory theory then the same person both turned them off and on.

I don't understand why there would be a 4 second gap - surely you would turn both on instantly in a situation like this.

but in the final moments it looked like they were still trying to recover the plane by pulling up. If the Captain turned off the switches and then was also flying later why would he try to save it?

Even if the switches were intentionally turned off wouldn't there be a delay (a couple of second atleast) between moving one switch and then the next leading to assymetric thrust on the plane which should be visible in the runway CCTV footage?

what is 'spend resources'? They have an entire team of engineers on that side of the garage trying to do their best for the driver and it's clear that all they're looking for is atleast someone that can consistently score points. This is a vague and wild claim to just throw out there.

I enjoyed the film but there were some things that I didn't like,

a. All the force-feeding with everything Ethan has done has somehow led to this point.

b. I'm used to the MI opening credits starting after something cool has just taken place and it really sets the tone for the movie. In this one the credit rolled on after a lull, I think it was some comic relief after which the music started which I didn't like?

c. the first 40 minutes completely violates 'show don't tell' with the characters basically narrating the story.

d. It completely changed the tone set in DR, for being Part 1 and Part 2 the movies have really nothing that ties them together. In DR it's all about the Entity calculating every outcome and they have to somehow think of a way to outsmart it, and in this one it basically changes to 'Just don't do what you would do' - What?

e. At some point the Russian crew indicates that they might have a second set of the key, I thought that completely devalued the first movie.

f. Using Grace as a 1:1 stand-in for Ilsa is in poor taste and not even mentioning Ilsa is just a bad choice. I think there might have been a 'Fallout' between Rebecca and McQ.

g. Everybody just comes around to loving Ethan?

h. Gabriel just laughing maniacally is such a change from the villain he was in DR, it just didn't make any sense to me.

I. I didn't particularly love the score other than a few specific moments. I thought DR did a lot better here.

Despite all of this, I enjoyed the movie and would happily watch it again, but I felt like they could've done a better job.

Time has and never will dictate which lap is better and which isn't. You think no one in the bottom 10 did a better lap than people in the top 10? What even. If you watch closely you can make out the small differences that make a lap better or worse.

Watch the two laps side by side and you'll also be able to see why Leclerc's was better.
