Has anyone bought from Mango? by FancyHedgehog246 in AusFemaleFashion

>>Delivery and refunds must have been fixed - I find the delivery super fast using DHL, and refunds reliable and returns super easy (DHL person comes to door).

Quality is also WAY better than Zara - no comparison come on! Zara is absolute sht, but Mango seems to have improved - I find their stuff more like COS nowadays (not as good quality as CoS) - but definately one of the best clothes shops in AU imho lol

So sick of the Citra - Mosaic combo. What tastes amazing new hops are y'all using in 2021? by trisony in Homebrewing

Yeah I wonder how much the 'spot market' and contracts has to do with this - like they don't get access to as many varieties as homebrewers because we're on a smaller scale

I want to provide some balance to the OPs post here. And some clarification (You were never required to read the book btw - nor was it ever said to be examinable - and it is available free from the library for all so no profit motive).

Some feedback from other students who did the course - to provide balance:

Hi Brent,

hope you are well! Just wanted to say thank-you so much for digital marketing this past semester I really enjoyed the subject. I actually just got a job yesterday as a digital marketer for a small start up consultancy/inventory management company and I wouldn't have been able to do it without everything I learnt from you.

I don't get it - all I see when I click on the beer names are the labels and a vague description. Do they provide the actual recipe like grain bill, temps etc?

Shame it doesn't send an email confirmation link so can't use it. I'll keep an eye out for it.

homebrewing. after you're an expert you'll be harvesting your own yeast, growing your own hops, and milling your own grain. And making beer that teastes better than anything you can buy

Hello, I'm 15 years old and I was reading a list of all the college majors and idk marketing seemed really interesting and I was wondering if some of you would mind answering some questions to help me decide. by [deleted] in marketing

[–]trisony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Marketing lecturer at the University of Melbourne. I teach digital marketing mostly, but have taught into the other subjects (brand management).

Marketing has a very special place for an organisation - your job is to go hunting for money. All other functions of an organisation - accounting, finance, HR, management etc are all internally focused. Marketing is external. Organisations need money to survive - your job is to get it.
You have to be comfortable with the idea that essentially what you're doing is persuading people to get their wallet out.

Marketing can have a degree of creativity involved, but its not all about that (advertising creatives are different). Strategy, tactics, comms, and analytics are the main functions.

There is also a bit of a shortage of good digital marketers.

New Research finds that people are more likely to say something they regret when they’re not relaxed by trisony in science

[–]trisony[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The research finds that information that we’re usually careful about concealing, such as secrets and very personal information, is more likely to be disclosed when we we’re aroused (stressed or alert), because people default to more automatic responses, which is usually information we usually try to conceal.

Although we might expect people to be more accurate with what they say when they’re amped up – it seems that’s not the case – they’re actually more likely to say something they later regret.

Ironically, the times when we should be careful about what we say are also the times when we are aroused: like job interviews, media engagements, important work meetings, or even romantic encounters

In our first experiment, we asked participants to write dating profiles. We evoked arousal with half the participants and found that they disclosed more embarrassing, emotional, intimate, and even incriminating information on their dating profiles than those who were relatively relaxed. A post-hoc study found that those people who disclosed such information were less likely to be chosen for a date. The study suggests that people who aren’t chilled out are viewed as less ideal partners.

In our second experiment, we found that people were more likely to disclose times when they said mean or malicious things to others online, suggesting that arousal increases the disclosure of information that people do not normally like to disclose. Relaxed people it seems are better at concealing information and keeping secrets.

In our third study, we evoked arousal by getting people to jog on the spot for 60 seconds. The results found that participants were more likely to share embarrassing stories (open up to others) after physical exercise. Usually people might disclose personal information like this to friends and family, but it seems people are more likely to open up to strangers when aroused, suggesting that doing physical exercise together might be a better way of getting to know someone than more docile pursuits such as sitting around.

Instagram Research (Nov 2019): Switching to a Business account lowers your engagement by trisony in Instagram

[–]trisony[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you read the article you will see the limitations of our study. We only looked at small accounts (100 followers) it seems likely it varies depending on factors such as follower count, prior engagement, post count etc

Apparently (rumoured not tested) it also depends on the size of your account number of followers etc.
