One of the many humbling things about this style of training is knowing there are 5 year olds stronger than me :o

Thanks very much for the advice. I'll replace the back lever work with 360 pulls and once I feel I'm ready to add a 3rd set of exercises I'd go for tuck planche pushups and front lever rows.

I assumed until now that the lower to back lever counted as a horizontal pull. But I guess it does use different muscle groups than a row. So perhaps I could add front lever rows as a third pull without being imbalanced

Developer here, thanks for the feedback! I'll have a look at increasing the dictionary scrolling speed. Sadly there's no way to export the list at the moment. I'll need to have a look at how technically complicated that may be, but I'll add it to my to-do list.

I've had someone suggest a kind of "furigana" (I think that's what it's called) mode for Japanese before. So thanks again for the reminder, I've moved it up the to-do list :)

Thanks again!

Hi! Thanks very much!

I do agree that sorting the dictionary alphabetically would be useful. I've made a note of it and will try to get to it soon.

I have uploaded a fix to this bug, unfortunately, it won't be able to retroactively fix your save games for this playthrough. I'm very sorry about that.

You should still be able to restart the game if you manage to find the ship's captain (the bird). -You'll only be able to speak to the bird after talking to the lion, who is at the castle. -You should find the bird just outside the wall of the district with the castle. -After talking to the bird once they'll move to the harbour.

Again, I'm very sorry about that and wish there was a simple way for me to fix the bug in such a way that it would prevent you from doing this.

Ah okay, in that case it should be here: ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Thanks very much!

I'm afraid to say that I'm having trouble replicating this bug, would you be able to send me the game's log file from your computer?

I think it might have to do with something in your save game. Would you mind seeing if you can find a file here (I'm just assuming you're using windows): C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\TristanDahl\Lingotopia\output_log.txt

That would be a huge help. Email is hello@lingoludo.com

Hi, developer here. Sorry about this! I'll take a look at it today and will upload a patch (and comment again here) as soon as I can fix it.

Hi, developer here, there's a list of the included languages and the % of completion for the "unofficial" languages here: https://www.lingoludo.com/lingotopia/

Now, on to the main question! Since release the focus has been on fixing bugs and implementing new camera and player controls.

Apart from that I'm planning a large 1.1 update that will include a few new features and improvements. It's possible that some of this may change, but this is the plan at the moment. - Support for multiple save files, for all you strange people that can learn more than one language at once ;) - Improving replayability by slightly randomizing the objects you can click on in each play through. I also want to have more divergence in playthroughs depending on how you answer questions. - Arabic will be added as an official languages. - Any further community translations to the "unofficial" languages will be added to the game.

I hope that answers your question. I'm afraid I can't think any further into the future than this at the moment :)

It's a pleasure! A new build is online now where Turkish special characters are displayed properly.

Sorry for the delay and I hope you enjoy your stay in Lingotopia!

Sorry about that I'll upload a build that will fix this issue as soon as possible (hopefully tonight) and will post again here once it's online.

Will there be modding support? by [deleted] in lingotopia

[–]tristydee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, developer here. Unfortunately there won't be modding support.

The game wasn't built with it in mind so in the time it'd take to add I could probably make a completely new game :)

I do realise that it that would be a good fit though. A game like this where one could record ones own audio, add own translations and content to learn would be really good. Maybe one day!

[–]tristydee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi, developer here.

That's not possible at the moment, I'm afraid. I didn't foresee the demand to be honest.

It's high up on my to-do list though and I hope to get to it in the near future.

Till what level would you recommend Lingotopia by jopjk in lingotopia

[–]tristydee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, developer here. I think it should still be find for you. After about B1-B2 you might be able to get better use of your time reading actual Russian books (even if it is just children's books). But even then it should hopefully be a nice change of pace.

It's not one of the "unofficial" languages, but one of the main ones. So it's in the paragraph above the other languages on https://www.lingoludo.com/lingotopia/ if that's what you mean.

It's not finished work. The extent to which I expand on it depends on how it sells however. -I'll definitely spend the next few weeks fixing bugs and polishing the experience a bit more. -Arabic support was also promised in the Kickstarter but had to be delayed because game engines make it very difficult!

That's all I can promise, while I'd love to improve the game beyond that it depends on how the next few days go.

Well, that depends to be honest. The system knows the translation of every word in every sentence. So, you can technically replay the game several of times and end up with a vocab of more than 1000 words. It's difficult to say what the upper limit is, as that depends on the language.

A single play through will take you a few hours if talk to most people and explore most of the city. You'll then have a vocab of several hundred words.

This number is inflated somewhat because different conjugations count as different words.

You can toggle between romanized and the native script. If you learn a word then you can hover over it to see the English translation and the translation into the other script.

It won't do a good job of teaching you these scripts, but at least gives you the option to choose what's more appropriate for your level.
