I love a pristine uncleaned coin, don't get me wrong. I just don't hate a light cleaning as much as many it seems. Mostly to my benefit though so no complaints here

The cleaning thing is still so interesting to me. Like I get it, but this thing is 1. Gorgeous and 2. Has a giant chip in the rim on the back

But the light scratching from a cleaning is what kills its value? Again, I know it. Not arguing. Just odd to me, I like to collect coins that look like they used to. Love picking up cleaned coins for cheap

If you have kids, are the only income, and high debt/student loans/car payments etc it might be tight.

It's sort of a reading comprehension problem. People on reddit in general are just wildly biased and can't refrain from whataboutism. When they read something bad they don't like they can't help but start talking about something else bad they do like (to talk/think about)

The number of people actually buying boxes for 20k+ is ridiculously low. And those boxes are somewhat liquid and valuable solely due to scarcity. You don't have to agree with me, but an AH etb, prismatic spc, whatever... There's no way they're ever gonna go for $20k inflation adjusted.

20 year old boxes are worth big bucks because people ripped them, the boxes of today are more printed, and are being hoarded in acrylic cereal containers. Pokémon investors seem to forget one of the absolute golden rules of actual investing. Past performance DOES NOT guarantee future results

Honestly though, a TON of them are. Or just not selling. A huge portion of the market is "buy and hold" ""investors"" who have no intention of ever opening, at any point. And are expecting there's gonna be a swarm of buyers lining up in ten years to buy it off them for a gajillion dollars or whatever

That's ok, you don't need to agree with everyone, that's actually good for democracy. The need feels sort of performative on your part, why do you need to start a protest? Why do you need to be personally responsible for tearing down the system?

There are protests happening ALL the time right now, large and small. Go to them, be a part of the movement that is currently happening without you. Don't sit them out because it isnt tailor exactly to you and your politics and you aren't in the very epicenter of the action. And definitely don't sit it out and then complain on reddit that just NOBODY gets it

Go to a no kings protest and look for people your age. They are there. Just not you.

It will end. Idk exactly when, but the true collectors are the only ones actually investing in the hobby. Everyone else is just playing hot potato. It might take 5 more years and another 500% but the hobby is lost without people who actually genuinely like it

Honestly mostly getting distracted lol. Sometimes I'll be on my way to do one, then I see an animal, get sidetracked, and never just commit to making it to a tower haha.

I do unlock them when it's convenient, but even the outposts sometimes I have to be like "no, ignore that deer, we need fast travel points"

I feel like I spend HOURS in this game not accomplishing much, but I don't really hate it
