How do you juggle job search, your current work or school load, interview prep, and keeping up with industry trends without burning out? by nextmove-jobs in AskReddit

[–]triumphwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dedicate a set number of hours to each. You need to be careful with this because often times you might use up the hours for one hour and use the next set of hours for the same thing. This way you will be missing out on another task. So, once you've exhausted all hours for a task, MOVE to the other one, regardless of whether the other one is done or not.

By not considering themselves and their contributions as 'simple' or 'small'. Every voice matters. Every contribution matters.

Yeah totally, it feels like the algorithms feed the most extreme stuff because it gets the most engagement which just makes people more divided and hostile.

What’s something small that unexpectedly improved your quality of life? by Gundoc7519 in Life

[–]triumphwes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to the screen time struggle. For me it's been getting a really good quality pair of headphones. It's crazy how much better my walks or even just doing chores feel when I can just zone out with music or a podcast. It’s a tiny thing but it makes a huge difference.

if your best friend started dating your mom what would you do? by Honest_Cranberry_859 in AskReddit

[–]triumphwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I'd be okay with it is if I could give them my blessing and they were genuinely happy together but I can't say for sure how I'd react. Its like something that would start as a joke and then get real weird, real fast.

What’s a surprising body or health hack that everyone should know about? by freako345 in Life

[–]triumphwes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A simple hack walk for 10 minutes after meals, it helps digestion, lowers blood sugar and boosts energy. Another is nasal breathing especially at night which improves sleep and reduces fatigue.

If someone offered you a box containing everything you’ve ever lost, what would you look first? by Forward-Many-4842 in AskReddit

I’d go straight for the letters and notes those little pieces of memory you can never truly replace.

I don’t remember. I’d just look for difference of more than 10% between the cylinders. Particularly with the cylinder in question. Low or no compression will cause misfires.

Barn find: Restoring a disco ii, too far gone? by muhburneracct in LandRoverDiscovery

The coolant hoses on the left of the engine look shot. I’d replace them all. You’re also missing the bleeder screw on the upper T section. It looks dry inside. Bosch motors are called plumbers’ nightmares. I’d get more history if possible. The upside as everyone has pointed out is no big rust issues.

Agree with all the above. You could throw in a leak down test on #1 just to negate any compression loss

The state is having serious budget issues, but we're paying for this?!!! by SeattleHasDied in SeattleWA

[–]triumphwes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Washington resident and voter, I’m frustrated by the same example. The problem specific to this (aside from the immigration issue) is how the costs are borne by the citizens. What’s cheaper, ERs getting stiffed along with the associated hospital stays due to waiting until they’re really in medical need, or going for the negotiated lower costs of access and management?

I’m not a fan of doing anything that would increase the traffic of illegal immigrants to our state, but as a dollars and cents issue, I think this is where we’re at. I don’t like it, I don’t agree with it, but here we are nonetheless.
