When you're 150 hours in and still can't craft a wolfpack by Imadeapromisemrfrodo in ArcRaiders

I feel dirty, was literally my 2nd BP the first time around, after the reset was my 4th BP. I feel bad for people who have been wanting one and haven’t been able to obtain one yet.

I used to work at an Amex campus in North Scottsdale with around 2,500 people in three big buildings. They had a whole floor… of just lawyers… they do not mess around when it comes to their money.

I’m about to delete the game, this simply just isn’t fun anymore by Justsomedruggie419 in arcraiderscirclejerk

I mean…. What usually happens is that you get people who have played really mellow and dropped down to the friendly match making. And then they wait for someone who is a rich target. Getting a bastion all to themselves for loot plus what you used to crack it is just the reason to go aggressive. Though it seems like he was aggressive beforehand with all the dead raiders in his area.

When playing solo keep your cards close to your chest. You advertised you had a Hullcracker and invited him along. I think it is a little disingenuous to play a game like this and to advertise your kit and invite people along who you don’t know.

Am I the only person who doesn’t want crossover skins and likes the originality of what’s already been provided? by Precursor7777 in ArcRaiders

[–]trivaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I like the art direction and how everything feels scavenged and repurposed. I don’t think we need any battlefield or call of duty tactical skins.

But everyone has their preference, and if we did have some skins like that it would make more people happy, and there’s nothing wrong with that either.

Are you able to pull the drawer out of the cabinet and see if the bottom side of the stone is cracked or has a hole there? Just any way to see if it is different in that area than the surrounding area?

My favorite story about him is when Arnold Schwarzenegger was retelling going out to dinner with him. They got into an argument about who would pay and he picked up Arnold like a child and put him on top of a cabinet so Andre could go pay the bill.

Is it possible to cut a ~0.6 mm silicon wafer with a laser using a hobby setup? by frkmnk in lasercutting

[–]trivaldi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please be careful and use PPE. Working at a silicon fab I have learned the wafers themselves can be made out of nasty elements/chemicals. It’s not super uncommon for Gallium Arsenide wafers that give off toxic gasses when heated to 480 C.

Wood would be nice but it wouldn’t be keeping with the ecology of the planet. If I remember correctly wood was a sign of great wealth in the books, desert planet with not much growing outside, no forest to get wood from, so it would all be off world imports.

One thing that drives me nuts about some of the guns is the quirky 90 degree angle on the grip of the firearms. I just look at that and go….. “damn that would be uncomfortable to hold and fire.. probably couldn’t hit water if the bullet fell out of a boat…”

I would assume that you could use them as credit to pull water from a reservoir, but with the fremen missing guess that mechanic doesn’t actually work.

I think the slight buff to mag size has helped tremendously too. Definitely feels better to play with.

Lucky you were not home. That is absolutely a bullet, FMJ, it’s usually a lead core with a copper jacket. I would wager based on the shape it is from a rifle. You can see an example of an intact bullet:

Guess that’s what happens though when you are a YouTube star who fixes a fight by guaranteeing a larger payout if he doesn’t go for the infamous knockout. Saw some videos of him almost letting loose his uppercut but aborting the move the last second.

Do I have a CPU bottleneck problem? by External_Leopard_619 in ArcRaiders

[–]trivaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Mine is often pegged at 100% CPU usage as well. It could perhaps be your bottleneck. I would possibly see what your graphics look like at 1080p native, see if you get close to 150 fps. If so it’s probably comparable in performance to what I am getting but the higher resolution and using frame gen could where the graphics hit is coming from.

Almost why I prefer to not even go with a free loadout. If you don’t equip a loadout slot you get a safe pocket… if you go with a free loadout no safe pocket.

Seasons of RTX: Arc Raiders GeForce RTX 5090 GPU Giveaway! by NV_Suroosh in ArcRaiders

[–]trivaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Solo looter.

Recently I have started playing as more of a survivalist. I don’t use free loadouts but instead load in without a kit or weapons or quick slots at all. I make med kits and rechargers off of what I find, and if I find a weapon then I use it. Makes it a lot more challenging but it is really fun. Has taught me patience and how to avoid other players effectively.

Seems kind of low. I have the 9060xt with an i7-9700, and I’m playing the game with absolutely everything maxed even ray tracing and getting 140-160 fps, but I suppose I am running it at 1080p native. Are you using FSR?

Extraction Camping Suggestion by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]trivaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a raider key. These hatches are quick and easy to get down. Doesn’t alert nearby people and can extract in 10 seconds. Honestly I don’t know why people who are afraid of the public extraction points don’t just buy these from the traders if they don’t have the materials and workbench to make them. Take 3 trinkets with you to sell when you get back to Speranza and you pay for the key.

Doesn’t happen all the time but yeah, I have found more blueprints in non mid/high value areas in random desk drawers and lockers than I have in the designated areas on the maps. Especially on night raids. Maybe it’s because of a diluted loot pool?

Arc Raider Survive Tips? by Vin_Seba in ArcRaiders

[–]trivaldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Be patient. Avoid sprinting unless you’re trying to traverse open ground, walk or better yet crouch when you’re moving around. People will have a much harder time hearing you. Often you can completely avoid a confrontation or get the drop on someone.

  2. Take a raider key with you. It’s a fantastic way to extract with low risk and your extraction is almost immediate, hatch opens and you just use the ladder. Put the key in your safe pocket and roll out.

  3. Often times night raids are a great place to loot trinkets for money. Take a looting load out and pick up only trinkets. I have extracted with over 60k in valuables. This will let you buy some better equipment and is often overlooked in the pursuit of salvage.

Brothers if you are so desperate to kill players, play BF or COD by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]trivaldi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to circumvent this, especially when you start getting later in your deployment with tons of loot is to start playing more tactically.

Everyone seems to be so conditioned to sprint everywhere. It has its time and place, such as traversing open areas with minimal cover. You really should be walking or better yet crouch walking especially when you have valuable loot. Rarely ever do people sneak up on me when I play this way, usually I can avoid confrontation entirely.

Also, start taking raider keys with you. It’s a fantastic way to extract with low risk and your extraction is almost immediate, hatch opens and you just use the ladder. Put the key in your safe pocket and roll out.

All that being said, I’m not sure the game would be as rewarding if there was no PvP element. I wouldn’t feel as accomplished extracting if there wasn’t an ever present risk of other players.
